Actually..no one should criticise LCW at all..how many players can be like him? Only he can stop LD..anyway thats not the main point la..the main point is that he has done so much for his country and he always play his best..if you take him out, malaysia has no MS players at all..what more can one ask for? $You guys should be thanking him and encouraging him..Im also quite stunned to see his fellow countrymen criticising him here..poor LCW.

    As I said before :
    At this point in time:
MAS is fortunate to have LCW and
CHN is more fortunate to have LD.

if tamely, the match would be a straight set loss

it was a rubber set so what is dato asb's intention?

..i haven't seen the AG MS Final match, but from the reports/comments as well as the scoreboard, i thought LCW gave it his best effort despite the loss. Certainly he didn't show the same nerve vs. LD as he did in the 2008 OG..

..oh well, i guess LCW can try again, if he(or BAM) wants to, in 2014 AG (i know that's a long time). No TH & LD and maybe only CJ to deal with. By that time he'll be 32 years young and should he win the MS Gold, he will become the oldest MS player ever to win the AG MS Gold!..

I see, so you are the type that uses scores to judge the match. Many unforced errors + Getting beaten in netplay does not EQUAL to no effort. Anyway, I see that you are the type who cannot be convinced... I'll leave it at here...

LCW should migrate south to Singapore. We will be a whole lot more appreciative than the voices here since apparently MAS folks think that LCW is in the way of another champion in the making. Singapore was happy with a pair who won our first SS so imagine the elation with a single person who can win many many SS. Such a move will be LCW's best move for both Singapore and Malaysia. :)

Day dream mode off... but seriously... Singapore went crazy when Ronald Susilo (spelt in full because most BC'er will not recognise RS) brought LD down in OG2004 that he almost became a national hero. LCW has done more for MAS badminton especially in the current drought of MS players. Don't have to keep hammering that LD is sharper than LCW. Accept that you still have one of the best player in the world.

Even though personally I only supported LCW for the 2nd set (because I wanted to see the 3rd set), the determination shown by both men are simply colossal. Whoever won, this is much better badminton than OG2008.

For us armchair critics, remember that he is the one who did all the hard work and damage to his own body. We just talk, post comment on the forum and maybe support our player. We have no rights to poison pen their efforts.

and yes, this is called effort.

lin dan was simply fast, we could see he was able to return all the impossible shots!

And if he does, he will be considered a traitor and he will be the most unpopular personality on the Internet. This poor dude just cannot escape criticism wherever he is.
Personally, I think that LCW himself would not migrate to Singapore. He is a very patriotic sportsman, and after he wins every match first thing he does is to kiss the Jalur Gemilang on his shirt. One of the most patriotic sportsman I have seen, I think he puts his country above personal glory.

    Super Dan bags it all

    http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2010/11/22/asiangames/7476167&sec=asiangames

    Quoted from The Star

Chong Wei was too disappointed and distraught to turn up for the post-match media conference. Said team manager Datuk Maijol Mahap: “He is sitting at a corner. The defeat was too disappointing for him. Please let him be, for now.”

Yes. Got effort. But is it so-called 'Great Effort'?
