GPG is borderline, depending on the participation. GPG during Olympic qualification can be as good as SS but can also be GP like in some case.
Even being as a GPG tournament, this tournament was not shown live whereas we were able to watch live matches of welsh international which is lesser ranked one . Really strange . It was really very boring watching just the live scores . Many of the active badminton fans might not have watched this live scores simply sitting patiently in front of computer.
You're right,thanks for the info. Any body knows, are WZM, Chen Yuekun and Gao Huan about the same age, all around 21 years old? Among these three, WZM is better known but he has yet to win a single significant title, not even a GPG , though he has been a finalist in SS tourneys, eg the CHN Open PSS where he lost to Chen Long and the SG Open where he lost to Boonsak Ponsana. Frankly, I'm quite impressed by the way WZM played Chen Long in the CHN Open,more than Chen Yuekun's and Gao Huan's matches I've watched before. Just hoping he can be more steady,pro-active and consistent to rise higher as he is capable of.
If I'm not wrong, even Du Pengyu who has been ranked in the top 10 for many months, has yet to win a single GPG or SS title. China's case is one of having too many players and too few tournaments for them, whether seniors or juniors.

DPY has only a university games title. Hence, no title. DPY grinds out his wins with extreme physical effort. While that got him some wins, once deep into the draw, he has nothing left to win the final match. Hope they send him to one of the weaker GPGs to gain a title. He deserves one.
One good news to share. I read that BWF is going to introduce hawk-eye camera similar to what's being used in tennis sometime next year, and not wait until 2014. Still I believe some discretion on the part of the umpires/judges is necessary at times when deciding close linecalls because a shuttlecock is not shaped exactly round like a tennis ball. A great improvement nevertheless. Another new development is that BWF has decided to change the group format for the next Olympics Rio 2016 - after the group stage is played, all those who came in second in each group will be pooled and a new draw conducted for them for the QF elimination stage. This should,hopefully, prevent the LOG WD fiasco from happening again.
