Hi All,

I'm hoping BC users visor and Takamsda and any others from the GVA can help me out on this.
The CCAA Badminton National Championships are being held at VIU from March 2nd - 5th.
Although the host will provide a stringer, the quality of the machine and abilities of the stringer has varied greatly from one year to the other.

It is not feasible for me to bring my own machine from Ontario. I'm wondering if anyone could recommend any reputable stringers either in shops or BadmintonCentral Members in the Nanaimo area as a contingency plan.

Thanks for all the help.

Howard

Maybe get them strung in Vancouver/Burnaby before heading out there? Many excellent ones around GVA, Takamsda included.

Thanks. That would always be the 1st option, but my question has more to do with the fact that our players will be in Nanaimo the entire period competing and will likely break strings during the competition. We will have to look for a reputable stringer on the island with quick turnaround.

Let's just say last year's stringing machine was an Eagnas ST-200 when the nationals were hosted in Nova Scotia. We had to go out of our way to search for someone else to do some volume stringing.

Ah, in that case you'll have to wait for Takamsda . He should know since he's been there many times with his team competing.

There's only few people in the area that strings racket in Nanaimo,

I just made a phone call that VIU's stringer is likely to be Graydon Robb. As what kinda of machine they're going to use I have no clue. Assuming crank. If you're not happy with this machine set-up maybe you can contact Roy Onyschtschuk from Dealer's choice. He has a electronic stringing machine.

That's a shame, IMO crank stringing machine belongs in the lake of lava.

Yes I was competing. but we never use any on-site service. We always bring enough of our own rackets.
As as for competing I am out of that scene. I do however have one sponsor player from Langara have a chance to make it to CCAA this year. :) Just look for the mPanda logo!

I contacted Roy and he confirmed with me that he's the official stringer for the CCAA championships. Everything is good. Thanks for all the help!
