    Hi all,

Recently encountered a player in my club who is serving in such a weird way that its leaving the other players really frustrated. just wanted to know if its a legit serve in badminton

Not sure if you are able to see attached photo, here's a brief description:

    1) Server serves on right service court
    2) He stands at the very front right corner of his service court
    3) Serves with a forehand serve
    4) Aims at deep backhand corner of receiver
    5) entire flight path of the shuttle is at receiver's partner court, until the very last moment where it drops and lands at receivers court

Apologies if its not a clear enough description, just need clarification on the serve. Thanks!

We have already discussed this exact case not too long ago.

In short, the laws are not (and should not be) in the business of forcing a specific technique. As long as the server stands within their service court and the shuttle lands within the receiver court (= the diagonally opposite service court) - or the receiver hits the shuttle before it drops on the floor - the serve is valid. Read the thread for tactical advice on how to deal with these serves.
