    ar... my bad.
    bare wood, apply electrical tape
after electrical tape, apply super grap
after super grap, apply your preferred over grip

    or

apply electrical tape onto existing original grip
    then, apply your preferred overgrip

hope you get it ......... :(

What does the electrical tape do? Just add extra thickness?

To add thickness and to protect the wood.

Thanks. i got it. But will that be alittle too thick? that's why i was thinking to opt out on the electrical & just purely super grap & a overgrip.

pull the grip more or wrap with less overlap.

I don't think that anyone can answer that for you. Hard to say what grip size racquet you are using, how big your hands are, what grip size you like.

Personally if I have a G5 racquet I like to strip the racquet back to the bare wood and then put on an overgrip and a Super PU replacement grip. The same thing on a G3 racquet would be too large for me.

I think that two layers of overgrip would be more absorptive than a layer of electrical tape and a layer of overgrip. More cushiony too. I say go for it :)

i'm quite comfortable with a G4 & a overgrip over the stock. Super PU is great with me but i sweat alot of it becomes slippery at the 2nd hour. I'm not sure now thick is the current stock grip thus i was contemplating what to use to replace it. Thanks!

Ah, you were comparing the current stock grip with Super Grap. I think that Super grap is much thinner. According to the Yonex catalog Super Grap is .25mm and their replacement grip is 1.2mm (I don't have the catalog right in front of me, those are from memory and may not be 100% accurate but the general relationship is about right).

I would expect that Yonex replacement grip is designed to replace Yonex stock grip and is about the same thickness.

What kind of overgrip have you been using? I haven't found any overgrips that were more absorptive than Super PU.

I also find that using a towel to dry off my racquet grip in between games does a good job of removing moisture from the grip.

    hi weinsteinium,

i've used Karakal Super PU, Multi & Duo. The white karakal kinda did not absorb well the other time but the one on my ARC10 is good so far. Now i'm using Yonex overgrip & choosing those with a groove at the centre. ;)

if the super grap is suitable, i may just go for it to replace the stock one, maybe go another layer just to make it thicker.

the electrical tape will not increase too much of thickness. as said by chrishin, just do not overlap too much.

as for tacky grip, may check out Dinky... i mean Dink's review. personally, i prefer Kimony. wilson x-tra tack also not bad. yonex...? err... no comment

if you are heavy sweater, please check out this thread. will help.
