This is a guide for non-native Chinese speakers. Actually Chinese mandarin speakers would also have the same pronunciation issues. :)

Forvo is very useful. Use the above link to search for the word.

Angus Ng’s name in Chinese is 伍家朗. Cut and paste “伍” into forvo. Click search. There will a various options in different Chinese dialects. Click on Cantonese and click the play icon to get the sound.

Ng Wing Yung’s name in Chinese is 吳詠瑢. Cut and paste “吳” into forvo and click search. Click on Cantonese and click the play icon to get the sound. Her Chinese surname is different to Angus’ but sounds the same, hence when romanised, it is written similarly.

Ng Tze Yong’s name in Chinese is 黄智勇. Cut and paste “黄” into forvo and click search. This time click on “min nan” (this is an important step). Click the play icon to get the sound. From Wikipedia, it looks like his family are hokkien speakers which is why we have to choose “min nan”.

For an interesting player, try Tse Ying Suet - her name Chinese name is 謝影雪. You can copy and paste the three characters of “謝影雪” into forvo and search. There is one option on dialect and that is Cantonese - press on play and happy listening!

I'm actually somewhat related to NG Tze Yong. Our 'Ng' or in mandarin '黄' or 'Huang'. Just try to pronounce 'Huang', and now do it again but without the 'Hua' at the start. 'Ng' should sound like 'Uhng'
