As a beginner, restring when the string breaks, or becomes really really frayed.

OK, I am probably advanced beginner. Playing at least three times a week + at least two tournaments a month for last ten months. I am +/- able to use all types of strikes except backhand overhead smash :).

Mag, maybe can you say me how often you restring and what kind of impact it has to your game?

I rotate on three racquets. I would say I resrting 6-10 times a year. For some reason I usually break the strings before it shows any serious fraying or wear. (Because I'm such a hard hitter? ;) )

    I always restring new racquets.

I can't say it has any major impact on my game... if it's done correctly that is. A poor stringing job can really ruin the feel of a racquet!

I do what Mag does - restring when the strings break. Since I have a number of racquets, I only take it to my restringer when two or more racquets need to be strung.

Even if I have a racquet with the string having lost tension, I still use that racquet for shuttle drills.

i guess you can call me "intermediate"

i restring when it breaks, usually my great friends do that for me...Thx :(

also, if i feel that it has lost too much tension, and/or the string feels like crap, ill cut it and restring
