Hi guys, apologies if this query should be asked in a different section (badminton strings as opposed to stringing techniques & tools) but I have a conundrum that I am hoping you guys can help me with. I recently bought a Li-Ning n55iii and while the racket appears to be fine other than a few paint chips, but I didn't noticed about the grommets till the next day. The appearance of the grommet looks akin to candle wax (no, it doesn't feel like it ) and while it "appears" to hold the strings in place, I am not sure if I should cut the strings and change the grommets straightaway or should I just play with it first (string tension feels good) till the string breaks. I have attached some pictures, hopefully it helps in putting me in the right direction. Thanks heaps! P:S : I have heard all grommets are not made the same, is that true? If so, it is going to be a problem because I can't seem to find specific grommets for the n55iii
There is no nead to cut the string. Play until it breaks, but then replace the grommets as otherwise your string will break each time you have a slight misshit. The problematic grommets are those at the 11 and 01 clock positions. I posted a separate thread on how to repair those. http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/index.php?threads/repairing-broken-double-grommets.173961/
Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it!!! I'll definitely replace the grommets when the string breaks @sholean thanks for the info, its good to know
