Wow...a star-studded coaching set-up for Djarum indeed, with Antonius/Denny Kantono and Sigit Budiarto. But, so far, there's only one active WD pair in Djarum (Mel/Shendy)?? Any other upcoming pairs? Bona/Ahsan are surging ahead now...from 13-12 to 17-12
Game pt for the WC Bronze Medallist and they steal the second set 21-19 Sigh..... From 17-12...19-15....and the Japanese pair racked up 6 straight pts to win the set. I fear it is not good news for the young guns.
i think it's over for bona /ahsan now, they squandered their golden opportunity in the 2nd set. the japs are awake...
Rubber sets for Bona-Ahsan! The Jaya Raya-Djarum Pelatnas combo surprised everyone [including me] so far by playing the Japenese really well! You know, so far ....today has been a VERY good day for INA... Andre Alamsyah Tommy Adit [Andreas Adityawarman] Taufik Hidayat Akbar Endra Jo-Greysia Rani-Endang Fran-Rendra Rian-Yoke [and maybe] Bona-Ahsan ... all went to the next round! The only casualties were Natalia-Yulianti and Tantowi-Rizal, both pairs are not expected to go far by anybody anyway...
I think it's time for Bona/Ahsan to prove their worth as Pelatnas's no 4 pair.....this year is a crucial year for them to get their break-through.
I heard that 2 Fang Kaixiang's former pupils [from the singles training camp]: Jenna and Delis [both 18 year olds] have quite impressed the Djarum doubles coaching staff... Their legs are not fast enough for the singles game, but their hand skills are quite remarkable... Basically Djarum will use the [now] numerous INA tournaments in 2008 to naturally select the next good WD pair to complement Mel-Shendy...
10 straight points now for the Japanese pair....as they are strolling home 15-7. This will be a valuable lesson for Bona/Ahsan.....
