According to the french federation, the MS draw is counting LD, LCW,TH,PG. The six best players in the world will be there. For WS, Mi Zhou,Lin Wang,Tine Rasmussen, Yihan Wang, Lan Lu and PI will be play. 8 players of the top 10 will be there. In each of the doubles draws, almost the top 10 pairs will participate.
TH and PG will definately there, as they have to defends their final and title points........LCW may skip this one,....LD....depends on LYB...hehehe
I wonder if badminton is popular in FRANCE? French open seems to be quite popular but France doesnt seems to produce good playerS?
Who are the six best players in the world ? Never heard that term (six best players in the world )? Are Chen Jin (ranked #2 in the world) and Bao CL (4 titles winner this year) included? For WS, the top 10 means the top 10 in the ranking? Xie XF will not be there for sure. Who else won't? Thanks for the info.
Badminton is not really popular in France. Football, rugby or handball have much more players. But Every years we have more badminton players in France. There's a gap between French players and the world best players, but i think that in some years, France will be at the level of England or Danemark.
Well, first, sorry for my poor english guys. The article in French is an extract of an e-mail sent by the federation, then i don't have more information. What they means by "the 10 best players " i think it's the top 10 players. About LCW : " Chong Wei will now play in selected tourneys By RAJES PAUL PETALING JAYA: World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei will finally do what three-time world champion Lin Dan of China has been doing over the past one year – to make appearances in selected tournaments. And he has decided to skip the Denmark Open, which will be held in Odense from Oct 20-25, and also an earlier domestic tournament, the Terengganu Open from Sept 30-Oct 3. The short breaks in his hectic schedule will give him time to work on some areas of his game and peak in selected events. Former world No. 1 Lin Dan has competed in six international tournaments thus far this year while Chong Wei had featured in 12. National chief coach Rashid Sidek said: “We have reviewed his schedule and for now, Chong Wei has dropped one international and one local tournament. “He will stay home during the Denmark Open and concentrate on rising up to the expectation in the French Open. He was a semi-finalist at France last year, and the goal is to go one step better.’ But Chong Wei’s immediate target is to capitalise on the absence of Lin Dan in the Japan Open, which will begin today in Tokyo. Another Chinese player, Chen Jin, has withdrawn from the tournament. Chong Wei ran out of steam against Lin Dan in the semi-finals of the China Masters last week. Lin Dan went on to show that having won the world title for the third time in Hyderabad last month had not diminished his fire and hunger to win more tournaments when he tamed Boonsak Ponsana of Thailand to take the title. Today, Chong Wei will get to gauge where he stands against Boonsak, who played exceptionally well to upset Denmark’s Peter-Gade Christensen and China’s Chen Jin to reach the China Masters final. The match will also be a sneak preview on what can be expected from both the shuttlers, who will resume their rivalry in the Laos SEA Games in December. The other Malaysian men’s singles players in the fray are former internationals Wong Choong Hann and Pei Wee Chung, who will take on South Korean Park Sung-hwan and Andrew Smith of England respectively in the first round." Found on the LCW's thread. About LD, i think they are sure that he will play, and for XXF, for sure she won't come since she has retire, but when they sent the mail, they weren't aware of the news.

I can't believe MKY needs to start from a qualifier to be able pass through the main draw.. Hmmh.. I hope she will not meet Wang Xin anymore in the qualification day... Hmmmh...
This exactly shows how ridiculous BWF is? General speaking, the higher level of tournament, the bigger the prize, the more players in the draw, and also more matches to win for the title. Look at grand slams in tennis. But in BWF's logic, the higher level of tournaments, doesn't mean the higher prize. More ridiculous thing is the higher level tournament, the less players in the draw, and less matches to win for the title. In grand prix, there are 64 in the draw, and 6 matches to win for the title. But for super series, there are only 32 in the draw, and 5 matches to win for the title. The most ridiculous thing is to put 28+ ranked players in the qualification round, so that they have to play 3 matches in the first day of the tournament. It even violates the labor law which only allows 8 hours of work in every country. Combined with its ridiculous ranking system, look at the Q draw players: Wang Xin Yulianti M K Hirose Eriko Sekiya Mayu They are all good enough to win the title, or at least a strong contender for the title while in the main draw, lots of weaker players
my last sentence was posted before it's finished. I was trying to say: There are many weaker players in the main draw, for example: Nieminen, Anu van Cutsen, Rachel Cann, E Zechiri, Linda ...
They're on main draw simply bcoz they have higher WR pts at the moment ... Btw why Alvent/Hendra didn't participate in this tourney? IIRC they'll compete in Denmark SS, rite? Hmmm, meanwhile Vita Marissa will pairing with yet another tomboy, Cynthia Tuwankotta in WD Best of luck for all INA players
Don't worry coz that won't happen, though As MKY also withdrew from this tourney, just like Den SS So sad to see her WR keeps falling
On that week, Alvent has to go back to Japan for Japan Badmin ton League as you see that some of japanese players also withdrew.....
Hi Guys, I am a fan of Maria Kristin. What's happened to her ? Only 7 tournaments during the last 12 months, and she seemed to lose her concentration and the match went away !
