China's behaviour raises a lot of questions...Lin losing to Bao, Zhang/Yang retiring yesterday to let Zhao/Yu have an extra day's rest, and now Gao/Zheng retiring ?? it's ridiculous

    Summary:

Firstly, delighted to see the cute Pi eliminate ZN. I'm sure the atmosphere at the arena was electric. Maybe one of our French members can provide a report. ZN, it must be said, is amazing. She's still showing her younger counterparts how to be a pro despite injuries. I guess there was too much stacked against her today. Anyway, congrats Pi.

XXF will have the opportunity to avenge ZN's defeat. Despite a close second game against WMC, she came through, as expected.

MD will see another MAS v CHN final, only this time it's the golden oldies CTF/LWW. Will they have the nous to stop the relentless CY/FHF. The CHN duo could literally belt the old guys off the court.

Strange day in MS as suspicions of team orders in the LD v BCL match led to lop sided scores in the first 2 games. Did LYB finally let the reins go and allowed the boys to duke it out in the 3rd? Bao gets a chance to shake off that Mr. Runner-up tag. Opposite him in the final will be LCW, who strolled through a seemingly injured CJ. Should have been a much closer game but it was apparent that CJ's injuries were far worse than expected. LCW played well and I think would have won anyway.

INA booked it's only final in XD with Flandy and Vita clinically disposing of their DEN counterparts. And it appears that the other semi between XZB/ZYW and GL/ZB has been halted with the former ahead by a country mile. More meddling by LYB?:cool::cool:

    WD - yawn:cool:

does anyone know whether match-fixing is prohibited by BWF rules? I'm just wondering whether other countries could raise protests if China's sus behaviour continues. I have nothing against Chinese domination if it is based on merit, but I am against using your dominance to manipulate the system so that 'everyone gets a share'...it's not good for the sport...

fastdrop, can you summerize LCW vs CJ's game?
    Cos it really one-sided game.
Was CJ really injured? How serious was it?
Or was it LCW who played so phenomenal 21-8, 21-8?

    Thanks.

Chen Jin appears ok in the first set. LCW's pending shots taught Chen Jin to dance the "cha cha". LCW has totally controlled the tempo of the match.
During the 2nd set, CJ looks dizzy. I can't tell if he is tired but something was so wrong he could hardly be ready for the next serve.
I was so impressed with the gesture of LCW in the final minutes of the 2nd match. Instead of pounding the last nail to CJ's coffin, LCW merely gives CJ clear shots waiting for him to commit an error which CJ eventually did. A true gentlemen. He did not step on a fallen foe. Bravo LCW.

Thanks, I still imagine how the game was lasting...and wondering what was wrong with CJ. Anyway, LCW is really in his peak now, can beat any player... and in SUCH AN EASY WAY !

    Congratulations to him.
