so i ask u, would IOC dare to piss off 26% of population.
Realistically, it only meant 3 gold medals for china. For INA and MAL, badminton is more critical to their medal count

This truly represents the top four badminton nations from current situation. Both were all semifinalist in this year's Thomas Cup Finals.

BWF Secretary General guarantee that badminton still in Olympic Games untill 2016. IOC will make further evaluation for 2020 Olympics on 2013. It means five years left from now, badminton community all over the world should work together to develop this sport outside Asia and some European countries...

Here is what I got out of the results. Men's singles - dominated by China, Men's doubles - Indonesia still have the edge slightly with some really clever players, Women's singles - China still has the edge but Indonesia might be closing the gap a bit, Women's doubles - China, Mixed doubles - Korea the standout here, Indonesia need some new men in this category and maybe they can do what Korea has done.

The sad story is Malaysia and Denmark. Both need to have a look at their strategies and re-evaluate.

As for the next Olympics, Badminton will be there. As a junior coach here in Darwin Australia I just wish we could somehow have a link to Indonesia to strengthen the game here in Oz. From Darwin Indo is only a few 100kms away so we should make the most of that. I'm off to Jakarta in a few weeks to learn whatever I can about coaching and who knows maybe there's an interested big name coach out there that would be interested to teach us Aussies a thing or two.

Good. Hope Australia will bring stronger squad for London 2012. Do you already had contact in PBSI/Jakarta? Koh Rudy (Huangkwokhau) or mas Krisna maybe could help connect you with big name coach there...

As long as that doesn't mean Maria Kristin have to loose to Saina Nehwal in London 2012... :p

In the IOC, INA, MAS, KOR, CHN, only counts as 4 votes... :(

We need USA to be involved for the sponsorship money. :D We need Russia for the beautiful something-pova of the future... to add glamor and attention to the sport... ;)

    Yea man....

We have connections... but please note that we don't have many English-speaking coaches in INA... The best coaches we have concentrated on badminton training throughout their lives... they had no time to learn English...

I think IOC should add team-play in future OG. Table Tennis now has team and individual competition. The first benefit is it will increase the medal count. Second, it will allow more players (hopefully more countries also) to participate. When more countries have stakes, the safer the sport.
