This spreadsheet can also be viewed on the IBF web-site: www.internationalbadminton.org Each event can be found under the different tabs on the attachment. The World Championships regulations state: Players/pairs ranked one to eight 3.2.3 Players/pairs ranked one to eight in the IBF ranking list for each event will be considered in turn and are eligible to enter unless a total of four players/pairs from any one Member Association would thereby be exceeded in that event. A Member Association may have more than four players/pairs ranked one to eight in the IBF ranking list for a particular event. In such a case, the Member Association can enter any four (or fewer) of such players/pairs. Players/pairs ranked nine to 24 3.2.4 Players/pairs ranked nine to 24 in the IBF ranking list for each event will be considered in turn and are eligible to enter unless a total of three players/pairs from any one Member Association would thereby be exceeded in that event. Players/pairs ranked 25 to 150 3.2.5 Players/pairs ranked 25 to 150 in the IBF ranking list for each event will be considered in turn and are eligible to enter unless a total of two players/pairs from any one Member Association would thereby be exceeded in that event. Players/pairs ranked 150 and lower 3.2.6 After considering the player/pair ranked 150 (Regulation 3.2.5), the players/pairs ranked nine and lower in the IBF ranking list for each event will be considered in turn and are eligible to enter unless a total of four players/pairs from any one Member Association would thereby be exceeded in that event. Players ranked lower than 150 are eligible to enter under this regulation. We have worked through this process and indicated the players and pairs that are eligible to take part by highlighting them in red on the attachment. You must advise us in writing before 8 June 2006 whether or not you wish to enter the players/pairs that we have highlighted red. IBF had decided not to nominate a wild card entry. Timetable To remind you a copy of the timetable follows: Key dates Phase one Thursday 25 May 2006 WR that determines those eligible to enter IBF will advise Members of the players/pairs that are eligible to enter Tuesday 30 May 2006 Spain will decide whether or not they wish to use wild cards Thursday 1 June 2006 IBF to decide whether or not to use IBF wild cards Thursday 8 June 2006 Deadline for Members to confirm whether or not eligible players/pairs will enter IBF to publish wild card(s) Phase 2 Monday 12 June 2006 IBF to invite any further players/pairs due to players/pairs originally eligible, but not entering Friday 30 June 2006 First hotel booking deadline for players that have been invited. 50% of hotel payment must also be made at this time. Monday 19 June 2006 Deadline for Members to confirm whether or not 2nd phase players/pairs will enter Phase 3 Monday 26 June 2006 IBF to invite any further players/pairs due to players/pairs not entering. Thursday 20 July 2006 Second hotel booking deadline for further players that have qualified. Second 50% of hotel costs should be paid at this time. Monday 17 July 2006 Final deadline for Members to confirm entries Thursday 7 September 2006 World Ranking to determine seeds Friday 8 September 2006 Draw date Sunday 17 September 2006 Team Managers’ meeting: 1400 hrs at Venue Sunday 17 September 2006 Opening Cocktail for players and officials at 2030 hours at Convencion Hotel (place to be confirmed) Monday 18 September 2006 Competition starts 23 & 24 September 2006 Finals Further information will be disseminated in the next letter. Thanks for the info ......... IBF has released the phase-II one. For Men's-singles : how come Wong Choong Hann is "Accept : NO" ? any idea ?
Interesting... I see Paaske and Rasmussen is still eligible to play as a pair, where as their new pairs are not. Does it mean they will play together again ?
I'm 100% sure Wong Choon Hann won't be playing for WC 2006 this year!and if Kuan Beng Hong is improving..he will be in!but if not...may be Lee Tsuen Seng!
