China has no problem to take away WS and WD title for sure.:D
    England should take the XD.
For MD, Fu/Cai should stand a high chance.
The tricky one is MS, both Taufik Hidayat and LCW would like to beat the Chinese players in Japan for sure after their failure in Madrid. I think the strongest challenge should comes from LCW as beside Lin Dan, he has a good record over most of the Chinese players this year. I think Chong Wei wants to beat Chinese players badly especially after his first defeat to Bao Chunlai, WC2006 lines men issues, LYB's " break legs" story and Malaysian NSC warnings, the ony thing that LCW can do is to beat all his opponents in Japan. " The Power of Revenge could be very strong" from LCW.

Wow,many predictions here although the competition has not yet begun. Anyone knows about the official website of China Open-06? Is the venue similar with last year event? I guess the drawing will be out next week.

I thought this is China Open... not Japan :D I think he if he can, he would want to beat Lin Dan in China rather than Japan coz it's LD's home country. :) :D :p

If Lin Dan could perform well, then, it will be difficult for LCW to beat him in China. From the past history, other than Yang Yang, most of the world champion perform badly after they became world champion.

Good observation! So you mean nobody won WC twice except Yang Yang possibly. I bet Lin Dan win WC twice in the futur.

Also have you or any others got statistics about who won the most titles in Badminton men's singles? and who won the most prize money? (this probably more important than number of titles) (count the WC as $300,000 tournament). Thanks in advance for anyone could clarify this! [IMG]

WC was hold every two years in previous years and most of the MS World Champ could not maintain his performance for more than two years as the true World Champ. It would be difficult to win twice or more in the past.
However, if Lin Dan could maintain his performance for another 10 months, he may be able to win the second time in Kuala Lumpur.
I did not do any statistics studies on who won the most singles titles but it could be one of the following players (after 1980, considering the prize money is lesser before 1980): Morten Frost Hansen, Yang Yang, Lin Dan, Heryanto Arbi and Joko Suprianto.
