Well.. finally The Final of Denmark Open 2008 is coming

Here are the finalists:
Will start at 12:15 Denmark time or 5:15 pm (Jakarta time) or 4:15 pm (Malaysia time)..sorry I dont know exactly for others...:p

1. XD: Thomas Laybourn/Joachim Fischer Nielsen (Den) - Kamilla Rytter Juhl/Christina Pedersen (Den)

2. WS: Lin Wang (CHN) - Mi ZHou (HKG)

3. MD: Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan (INA) - Haifeng Fu/YeShen (CHN)

4. MS: Joachim Persson (Den) - Peter Hoeg Gade (Den)

5. WD: Eei Hui Chin/Pei Tty Wong (MAS) - Rani Mundiasti/Jo Novita (INA)

Seems the host will get 2 tittle in this SS..
I hope INA will get title from this SS, at least one.. but hopefully 2..:D:cool:

Let's see....

MIXED DOUBLES
Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Rytter-Juhl
[3] vs Joachim Fischer-Nielsen/Christinna Pedersen -- the senior DEN pair to win their first SS title!

WOMEN'S SINGLES
Wang Lin vs Zhou Mi [4] -- Zhou to win another SS title!

MEN'S DOUBLES
Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan
[1] vs Fu Haifeng/Shen Ye -- a tricky test for the World and Olympics Champions...to key is not to let Fu unleash his smashes. If the INA pair can do that, they should take the crown.

MEN'S SINGLES
Joachim Persson vs Peter Gade [7] -- Peter to take the crown, perhaps his last Denmark Open title?

WOMEN'S DOUBLES
Wong Pei Tty/Chin Ee Hui [4] vs Rani Mundiasti/Jo Novita -- both pairs are in contention to win their first SS title....the MAS pair still has the edge, but I hope Rani/Jo can take the title!

Peter played so well in this tournament.. won all games in two straight sets which indicates he still has the skills.

I predict:

1. XD: Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Rytter Juhl (Den) - Joachim Fischer Nielsen /Christina Pedersen (Den)

2. WS: Lin Wang (CHN) - Mi Zhou (HKG)

3. MD: Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan (INA) - Haifeng Fu/YeShen (CHN)

4. MS: Joachim Persson (Den) - Peter Hoeg Gade (Den)

5. WD: Eei Hui Chin/Pei Tty Wong (MAS) - Rani Mundiasti/Jo Novita (INA)

Peter never lost his skills, only a bit of speed, stamina and power. Still good enough to challenge the top players, in Singapore he made life quite difficult for LCW ...... :)

My predictions:

XD: Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Rytter Juhl (Den) - Joachim Fischer Nielsen /Christina Pedersen (Den) - all Danish affair sees the unseeded pair turn the tables on their higher ranked teammates

WS: Lin Wang (CHN) - Mi Zhou (HKG) - Zhou Mi takes over the mantle of Zhang Ning as the old iron lady of WS. Despite not being at her best, still too good to the new CHN World No 1 Lu Lan yesterday. Yup, old ladies must truly be respected.

MD: Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan (INA) - Haifeng Fu/YeShen (CHN) - Our neighbour's top pair consolidate their position as the best in MD. Good recovery from Hendra against Cai Yun/Xu Chen yesterday. But today, he has to be good from the word go.

MS: Joachim Persson (Den) - Peter Hoeg Gade (Den) - Old warhorse demolishes untested pony. Such is Gade's quality that after 15 years Denmark hasn't found a worthy successor.

WD: Eei Hui Chin/Pei Tty Wong (MAS) - Rani Mundiasti/Jo Novita (INA) - Third final in 4 months for MAS WD pair time for to get 3rd time lucky and land the elusive Open title.

Wow! Congratulations to Zhou Mi for being the World No 1 again in next week's world ranking! I saw her struggling so hard for playing 3 qualifying matches within a day in last year's S'pore SS when her ranking was 150+.

i hope the malaysian girls win their first SS WD title

I sure hope so, our players are the worst in terms of taking the opportunity ... I understand it was hard for them before when the Chinese had 3 strong teams in major events and now that the Chinese is not here, what excuse do we have not to win the Danish title? Indonesians are here? :D:D:D
Lets hope for the best.

Yup, exactly! The final match will be started on 06.15pm WIB, 07.15pm MAS/SIN/CHN time.
