I think the only person on Earth who can force Lin Dan to play his best whether he likes it or not, is Little Xiao Yu. Grow up fast, kid, and assert your authority on Daddy !
Uncle Lin doing a disservice to his sponsors and fans. Playing like crap. I would have shoot him with a catapult if I was watching in the hall.
There is an interesting race going between Axelsen and Lin Dan for the World Number 1 title. That will be decided in Denmark.
He's saying he's mentally and physically jaded, two weeks' rest is too short after those three long grueling weeks. How to argue with that , esp at his age? I guess we've to cut him some slack. At least Yonex managed to get him here to liven things up for a while, and fulfill their marketing campaign to boot, their primary goal.
no, i'm a gentlemen i'm definitely not gonna sleep around when my skinny wife got pregnant... seriously...
I'm inclined to agree that LCW's chances is the highest now, I don't think either KS or VA can stop him. LCW has something to prove here to Yonex., he's more tied up by the contract than Lin Dan, I think. Yonex won't want to see both their spokesmen out in the early rounds. And LCW has less excuse than Lin Dan not to enter the final , in a way.
Lin's current Indonesia Open point (2660) will be replaced by Japan Open points (5040). That takes him to 68746. And then his next lowest point is 2720 from German Open. So he can capture points galore playing Denmark and France and sleepwalk to World Number 1 ranking.

Axelsen is the contender for Japan Open title. I don't see SWH/LCW winning, but let's see where it goes.
But will Lin Dan play Denmark and French Open, not to mention do well in both or either one ? I hope so. Not foe=rgeting, after the European tour, he's to return home to play the CHN Open a fortnight later. Come to think of it, it has been a very busy year for him so far, the most hardworking MS player in the circuit, so unlike him, and scoring a creditable two titles and two runners-up. Not bad for a 34-year-old.
