Congratulations on China Team for having successfully won 4 titles. What a spectacular achievement! and the English MXD for having won the gold and silver!!!! For Indonesia, Malaysia, Denmark, Korea and other participating countries.... No worry.....STill have tomorrow I personally would like to congratulate LD for winning the MS. This time LD is a superb and excellent player!!! My advice to TH ...Take this as a good lesson and as a turning point for your comeback!!!! To all Indonesian players: Don't worry...I am still behind you!
Congrats to all World Champs-the Runner-ups and the Bronze medalists.Especially for England, cosmic! Magnificent, the only one WC title achiever among CHN domination. To CHN's brigade, definitely huge and excellence performance to create all-CHN-final in 3 division plus one gold medal from MD.Wow, only CHN can do it this achievement so far in WC arena, very impressive! In MS, I think LD must give big thanks for his 2 escort BCL and CH. LD isn't going solo to become new WChamp this year, both BCL and CH are really help him to clear the path into finale with defeat the giant nemesis TH-LCW-PG. Lucky LD to have 2 strong back-up!INA-MAS will ready to wait your action in upcoming KL-meet.
Congratulation to team China !!! You are already strong and continue to get stronger each year...I hope you can share the secrets with everyone else how to produce champions consistently : )
LD deserves to be the World Champion this year overall. There are two stand out performers LD, LCW for this year but LD is beating LCW continuously. So hence, LD should be credited as the WC, it would be very funny if Bao won last night, He peaked in this tournament and only this. But I salute Chen Hong for his performance in this tournament, and the Petra girl in WS and WMC for the comeback in the first round. XXF did well winning the title without losing a set and MD was the biggest disappointment. Condolences to Chan, then CTF/LWW make a mockery of themselves, hence what Jens Eriksen said holds true. Not much to say about WD. XD is all about KKK/WPT and the english pairs and remarkably, CHN has four pairs in this event and none of them made it into the semis. My player of the tournament goes to Chen Hong.
My congratulations go to Indra, for being such a good sport for a change! If only TH could learn from you, then world badminton will not get so much of the tarnishment it doesn't deserve. After the fall of LCW and LHI in the hands of WR8, Bao Chunlai, LD's work became easier. And after compatriot Chen Hong summarily defeated last year's WC champ TH and the great Dane PG, there was no one else in LD's path. But I do hope that Malaysian coaches should not pressure their charges unnecessarily before the big fight. As LCW was reported to have said after his loss to BCL, he was under tremendous pressure to win the title after all the favourable writeups in the papers on him to be the first big Malaysian winner. He doesn't deserve to be pressured further by his Malaysian coaches. But the greatest surprise in the Malaysian camp was when the unheralded pair of KKK and Wong Pei Ty emerged into the limelight by unexpectedly ousting last year's XD champion, Indonesians Nova and Nasir. I do hope that Nova and Nasir were not guilty of being overconfident. The thing worthwhile remembering as I recall, is that KKK threw all caution to the wind when he was unable to continue to play in the MD when partner CCM had to make an emergency return home owing to the death of his father. He was relaxed as there was nothing else to lose, resulting in a scintillating XD display with his partner to earn the bronze medal. And I was heartened to see a new face, that of the stately German, Petra Overzier, who gave a polished display of her 'unhurried' skills during her one-sided SF match against Zhang Ning. So two Germans, Xu and Petra, got the bronzes, apart from the famous accolades of the English, Robertson and Emms, Clark and Blair. And during the Finals, only the flags of China and England flew although the national anthem of China was played more times than "God Save The Queen". The name which appeared twice was none other than that of delighted Englishmen, Anthony Clark, in MD and XD with Donna Kellogg. Unfortunately, both times Anthony won only the silver. Did Mr Clark say he wants to retire? Who would have thought that England could have done so well? Maybe the moving of the IBF headquarters from England to KL, Malaysia left England with less to worry about? But it has to be said that the Great Wall of China is almost invincible for now. Thank God, it has to be the game's originators, England, which prevented a complete annihilation after superpowers Denmark, Malaysia and Indonesia failed to make much impact. God Save the Queen!
Bravo, Indra! Well said. It shows that you could accept defeats as well .... You're such a good sport!
