Hi all, Its been a more than a week since i have been playing with 65Z2 and 65X2 WIDE, so thought of sharing my thoughts. Comparisions:- Both are "Made in Vietnam" (the ones i received) 65Z2 -Size 29.5cms or UK11 (bought from e78-excellent service) 65X2 Wide -Size 28.5cms or UK10 (bought from sportsuncle-excellent service, international shipping available.) Having slightly Wide feet, if i am fortunate to get a Wider model i can settle for 28.5cms or UK10, if not, i have to opt for a size higher and the extra room does not bother me much. Right from the time you put them on, 65Z2 does feel more premium(comfortable)perhaps its the tongue of the shoe which is having comparatively more cushion. 65X2 Wide feels more snug fit to me(as my size is 28.5cms) It is interesting to note bottom of the insoles . If you see the pic below , you shall see one has SHBCFZW mentioned and other has YB-70-1 mentioned on it. Not much of a difference between the two in terms of playing. Overall the i prefer the colour of 65 X2 Wide (it truly looks great) Absence of Power Graphite Plate in 65X2 Wide didn't bother me.(as of now) If you tend to play for a longer time, the less cushioning of 65X2 at the tongue of the shoe may seem as an issue for a few. EDIT:forgot to mention, compared to 65z this shoe somehow feels better (i do not know why) Will update after a months use.
Overall, my legs being a little wider I prefer to play with 65 X2 W, but in terms of cushioning, as mentioned in my previous post 65 Z2 is preferable. If you have wide feet and willing to shell out a little more ,go for 65 Z2 W. 65X2 W is equally good but you may not get the power graphite plate and tongue of the shoe is having less cushioning. Not a deal breaker, trust me. Sent from my SM-N975F using Tapatalk
Thanks, I understand you are from India according to ur name, if yes do you know where I can get the 65 Z2 W?
Hi, yes right , I purchased 65z2 from e78 and 65 x2w from sportsuncle. Couldn't find any online retailers selling 65z2w till date . Perhaps if you try in cities you may get it from good sports stores. Sent from my SM-N975F using Tapatalk
How do I know if I have wide feet? My right foot is wider and I measured its width at around 3.9". I have the 65Z2 (white/orange) non-wide currently and it fits my feet but I'm not sure the wide version would be a better fit? I read in another thread that it's better for badminton shoes to fit snug in terms of width so that your lateral movement stability won't be compromised, thus preventing ankle twisting. What do you guys think?
If your feet are comfortable but snug don't get a wide. It's ok to have a snug fit width wise, lenght wise you need a small gap for the toes to not cause injury. Wide shoe models are for those who are in discomfort playing in regular width shoes.
And when you say "comfortable", that means no pain in the left and right side of my feet, right? Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
No pain, no "glad I can take these off now" feelings after only light training either lol Snug is good width wise but not to any extreme measure.
Do you know what is the difference between 65X and 65X2? I could get the 65X for 100€ but I am wondering if they're an older model, and if something has been improved in the 65X2 model?
