    Here's a gist of what happened :

set 1- Lin Dan was playing catch up with Sony. In set 2 Lin Dan switced to high gear and Sony was lost. Lin Dan is a very tricky player but Sony did expose some wealnesses.I think Lin Dan is coming close to be next Zhao.

Cai/Fu matched Alven/Luluk but I think Cai/Fu's game is even more sophisticated, their shots had a lot of disguise and they play at different speeeds to force opponents to make mistakes.

Taufik playing against Bao wa s like Maradonna today, slow and glassy eyed,Zombie would be the best description.

Chandra /taufik just couldn't lasr against Sang/Zheng, lucky to win.

Simon played like a Taufik but was outclassed by a tricky and experienced Xia,

The stadium was full but the crowd was fairly well behaved.I think it was also a victory of sorts for Ina as they proved they can control themselves and act mature. You should have seen the gloom in the face of the PBSI chairman.

I think Ina are good but they wre playing androids who had an extra element of deception and fine skills.

Wouldn't write offIna though, they can and have bounced back later.

Maybe the princely treatment he has been given by the PBSI has made him soft.

the question now is simply this, do this whitewash comes naturally or is it just another mind game played by the indonesians, or even do the indonesians took this clash as a practice match where they rest some player and let the players that are actually playing take it easy?
consider why flandi/eng arent playing? and why it is the scratch pair of candra/trikus who put up the toughest fight of the night? also the indonesians are already through to the next stage.

i don't call a fight when only one person that threw a punch.
that was not taufik's first fight.

but PBSI chairman said they both only exchange words, no punch.

i think what taneepak means that unlike other players, PBSI gave taufik a privilege to choose his coach.

one or two years ago, taufik wanted to leave indonesia because of the coaching issue...but i heard he was "persuaded" by PBSI to stay...And they will arrange his personal coach to stay and train him...something other players dont get to enjoy...Imagine if taufik was a chinese player...he would be kicked out from the national squad by li yong bo without hesitation...

yaaah.. Luckily he is not in Chinese national squad he..he..he..
PBSI can't kick Taufik out of the national squad because if PBSI do that
and then the only one MS player that Indonesia team can count on is Sony.
Maybe 'cause of this special treatment that he get make him feel superior and become an arrogant person.

Taufik would not have gotten his way if there are more talented and promising players.

the timing was quite perfect, when Taufik first had his disagreement with PBSI, there are no imminent tournaments and perhaps PBSI was hoping to train new players to replace Taufik, there is now Sony who is quite promising but not world beaters.

now when they realize time is running out, they had no choice but to go back to Taufik. PBSI officials while at times have appear arrogant, have bend their backs backward in order for Taufik to go back and train. he doesn't want to train with Joko, sure, you want your personal coach, sure.

but despite so, Taufik has not delivered, at least, so far he has not. a ABC title, sure, but that's hardly of much value as hardly anybody was really chasing for it. and the TC match with China was just humiliating for PBSI, especially when it was in front of their home crowd. let's hope some better results will show in the later stage of the TC and in the Olympics, otherwise, i think after the Olympics, Taufk will have no value anymore and then i think PBSI will no longer pay the extra bill for Mulyo and Taufik will have to face Joko again or if he is so spoiled and cannot stand it, he will be gone sooner or later.

    Spoiled.

These things usually happen to young players who peaked too early. They can't control emotions and thought they are the best already. Bear in mind that Taufik already got into an all-england final (but lost) before the age of 20. Then again, Zhao Jianhua and Rudy Hartono did the same thing (and won), and did not get spoiled.

PBSI should crack the whip much earlier on this guy. Also, why so much problems getting a number of good singles players? During 80s - 90s, this was not a problem. Indon has > 200 million people. It makes no sense if it can't produce many good players. They should have been able to match China blow of blow.

i heard that sony and simon is trained by joko, which is very serious and disciplined, while taufik is trained by mulyo, who lets him have his own way, as long as he win the plays...

that explains the difference in the attitudes and way of playing methinks :)

i think sony and simon are great, can be the next world best players, maybe if taufik didn't bring any winning in this TC/UC, PBSI will fire or at least suspends him
