    Hey guys,

    China Open is happening.
I heard it will be in Guang Zhou and in the Tian He complex again (where the Thomas and Uber cup were played this year)

I bet one guy we won't be seeing is THE Taufik H.
Actually, come to think of it, Indonesia don't usually send a big team to the China Open.

Yeah. I've heard from various sources that Bao Chunlai will be out of the China Open due to injuries. Poor guy, this should be a very good chance for him to establish his "mental strength".

Well... Guess he has to wait a little bit longer.

also out of the China Open is Zhou Mi and Zhang jiewen. apparently both got sick with some illness and they will have to undergo surgery. i read this in chinabadminton.com and the illness is not a sports injury, some inflamation of some sort that i have never heard of. i don't know the English name for it.

It's appendicitis. Both of them have already undergone surgery last week.

appendicitis.. oh that make sense. the literal translation is "broken tail inflamation". the appendix is like a useless tail in the intenstine.

new report states that Zhang already had her operation, while Zhou's will be scheduled for Thursday. i wonder why they decided to wait so long as it is only Wednesday there right now. appendicitis can get much worse if not taken care of immediately.

Zhang also brought her computer to the hospital. i wonder if she are trying to check out BF while she is there..

appendicitis is damn painful an experience.

I believe Zhou had hers last Thursday. The report said that their operations were scheduled one day apart, so if Zhang had hers on Friday last week then Zhou prob had it one day before her.;)

I heard the Chinese players go to CB quite regularly btw.

Appendicitis can get better but usually gets worse. Maybe that's what happened.

I shall be up to see the tournament on Saturday.

Probably wasn't welcome back at all. Too bad otherwise NED would have more representation but at least Judith, Mia, Lotte & others will be there to carry the flag.

Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun beat the Zhangs.

JR is out of both events. Men's doubles looks tough.
Mixed doubles - looks like Gao/Zhang are starting to click again.

Wong CH through after beating Peter Gade. I think Gade must be satisfied about his progress and rehabilitation. Looks like he'll be up there again for the World Championships. I bet he'll be peaking at the right moment.

Zhang/Gao look to be returning to top form, but I wonder how well they could have done had Kim/Ra been there. Chen vs. Wong should be entertaining as we will see if Wong can redeem himself after last year's Super China loss to Xia in finals. But overall, China has possibility for 4 medals, one less than last year when they bagged all 5. The Chinese women's domination continues especially in WD where some of their qualifying and unseeded pairs took out top-seeded pairs(Eg: Qual.2 Yang Yu/Qiuming Liu beat 2*Pernille Harder/Mette Schjoldager)!

    Go go Chen Hong!!
