    MEN'S DOUBLES SEMI-FINAL
Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun vs Luluk Hadiyanto/Alvent Yulianto -- a tough ordeal for Luluk/Alvent as they never win in recent encounters. Can they break the duck tomorrow?

Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan vs Jens Eriksen/Martin Lundgaard Hansen (MATCH OF THE DAY) -- expect a thrilling match...probably 3-sets. The Danes have a slight edge, but, I am putting my money on the Pelatnas pair to enter another final. One problem they have though is when they play against experienced and senior pairs like Tony/Candra, Clark/Blair and perhaps Eriksen/Hansen. Regardless of the results tomorrow, they will overtake Luluk/Alvent as INA's no 1 pair at the moment.

    My prediction for XD is

Xu Chen/Zhao Tingting vs Zhang Jun/Gao Ling
XIE Zhong Bo/ZHANG Ya Wen vs HE Han Bin/YU Yang

If Zhao Tingting is happy with her "divorce" with Zheng Bo (after the World Champion incident) and plays well with Xu Chen, an upset may occur - especially when Zhang Jun has shown many signs of slowing down.

    Lin Dan vs Bao Chunlai
It has to be Bao's turn. If Lin doesn't stop winning, he must be from another planet! On the other side, Bao is only the second to Lin Dan. During this long Lin's dominating era, Bao and Chen Yu were the only two guys winning the tournaments! No body else.

    Chen Hong vs Chen Jin
Never underestimate the champion! Chen Hong was the current Champion China open 2005 so far. So never too much to predict the champion winning one more round.

In Men's single, now, Lin Dan is too much for others to catch. For him, the question is not when to win next time, his problem is when to lose next time!

Top tier (always win:eek: ) : Lin Dan

2nd tier (capable to win at Lin's absence :) ): Bao, Chen H, Chen J, Taufik, Lee CW, Gade, and Chen Yu

3rd tier ( capable to beat 2nd tier but no chance to win): Lee HI, Roslin, Hafiz, KJ, Boonsak.

    WOMEN'S SINGLES:
    Zhang Ning vs Wang Chen
    Yao Jie vs Kaori Mori

Zhang Ning and Xie XF and far better than others. Potential competitors include all other CHN players, plus other Chinese players out-seas.

    MEN'S DOUBLES:
CAI Yun/FU Hai Feng vs HADIYANTO Luluk/YULIANTO Alven
KIDO Markis/SETIAWAN Hendra vs ERIKSEN Jens/LUNDGAARD HANSEN Martin

    Top tier MD: Tony/Chandra
    2nd tier: Fu/Cai
3nd tier: Eriksen/Lundgaard, Kido/Setiawan, KKK/CCM, Lee WH/Chong TF, Hadiyanto/Yulianto, and many other Chinese pairs under regrouping, and a couple Malaysia pairs

    WOMEN'S DOUBLES:
YANG Wei/ZHANG Jie Wen vs CHIEN Yu Chin/CHENG Wen Hsing
ZHANG Dan/ZHAO Ting Ting vs WEI Yi Li/ZHANG Ya Wen

    Top Tier: all Chinese pairs
2nd tier: some up and coming Chinese taipei and Korean pairs

    MIXED DOUBLES:
ZHANG Jun/GAO Ling vs XU Chen/ZHAO Ting Ting
HE Han Bin/YU Yang vs XIE Zhong Bo/ZHANG Ya Wen

There is really none dominating in mixed double, even though there are four chinese pair in semi, but none in the WC. Who will win the mixed double, seems totally random. Look at Zheng Bo/Zhao TT, claimed 6 star HK open by beating many top pairs, still not good enough to play together. So no body knows who's turn next time.

The Chinese MS, WD and MX double coaches can take 2 days rest now. :) Surpised that the WS coaches need to work an exact day this time. :)

This shows on WS side, CHN surely has a lot of talents, but none of the young guns can surely beating up the verterans yet. Lacking of expereince, and the result of internal battle (e.g. Wang Yihan eliminated XXF) makes the CHN open WS event NOT an all CHN internal practice session. ;)

Shouldn't be too surprising. China's WS coaches usually have to work until the finals. XXF and Zhang Ning make it to the finals on a regular basis, but the support cast such as Lu Lan, Zhu Lin, Wang Yihan, Jiang Yanjiao (sp?) are not at the stage where they can make it to the semi's consistently.

China's current WS is no where as dominating as the days when Camila Martin was still active. At that time, China's WS consists of players like Gong Zhichao, Ye Zhaoying, Dai Yun, Gong Ruina, Zhou Mi, and Zhang Ning, and Wang Chen (before she went to HK). If Camila Martin is still in her top form, she probably will find it easier to reach the semi finals nowadays than back then.

After Lu Lan and others mature, this might be another story though.

It's so funny to see for once a chinese against the world ahahah normally it's always been the chinese against a non chinese ahahha
But i pick Zhang ning as 2cents said Zhang ning is just too good for the rest of the world .. =)

For men's single ... i'm just amazed ! lool I guess it's a bit boring to see only chinese .. but if they can give us great matches it's okay =)
I pick here Lin Dan (THE BEST!) He's just too good =)

Yes, probably that's why Zhang Ning is still playing right now.

Nah. An easy win for Cai/Fu and Jens/Martin. Both pairs have shown very good form lately, and when these pairs are in form they usually end up meeting eachother in a final...

That's OK, Mew Choo is still improving and as her ranking gets better than she may not meet Zhang Ning, instead Xie Xingfang :D To win the title, you really have to good plus a little bit of luck on the draw.
