Lee Chong Wei will not attend China Masters, here's the info which taken from 'the Star Online' Malaysia :

    Sunday September 21, 2008

Chong Wei to skip China Masters

KUALA LUMPUR: National coach Misbun Sidek has given shuttler Lee Chong Wei the green light to skip next week’s China Masters in Guangzhou.

World No. 1 Chong Wei confirmed this after reaching the final of the Japan Open in Tokyo yesterday following a 21-6, 21-4 demolition of Dane Joachim Persson in the semi-final.

Chong Wei said he was skipping the eighth-leg of the Super Series in China because of a slight pain on his right hand.

The Malaysian had been seeded top ahead of Lin Dan of China for the tournament.
“It is nothing serious. It is probably due to heavy smashing. I need a rest. The coach also does not want me to aggravate any injuries,” said Chong Wei in a telephone interview yesterday.

“I will return home after the Japan Open. I have also been entered for the Macau Open (after the China Masters) but I am not sure if I will play. I will let my coach decide.”

If LCW skips China Master along with LD and Gade ...then Chen Jin has a much better chance to win China Master...I do not see BCL could win even Sony...unless Chen Jin loses in early round....

Maria Kristin is registered in Macau Open, i dont know why, perhaps it's a PBSI Policy doesn't include her to China SS, although i will be happier to see her playin in SS than just an Open tournament (as like Simon Santoso)....so sad couldnt see their action here in China
see full of BWF Rank at
    http://internationalbadminton.org/ranking_ms.asp?id=1
    sigh....Taufik now rank 13
but those ranks do not include recent Japan SS, i guess Sony ranks up after winning Japan SS

Wait until wednesday, it will be a night market again :D

Yeah, PBSI should replace TH with SS to China SS, it's regeneration time.. MKY also need to China SS actually... It may strenghten her fighting spirit to face lots of Chinese players...

Yeah, Chen Jin gains advantage with his smooth path into finale as LCW and Peter Gade withdrawal. And BCL has tough opponents at bottom-half drawing from first round such as Boonsak, Sho Sasaki, possibly TH and SDK in quarter and semifinal respectively.

with no Gade, LCW and LD, my favour absolutely goes to Sony, i think he can b able 2 beat Chen Jin, even Bao CL
this China SS looks a bit awkward, with so many "Bye" in 1st round esp in WS, n just a few player participates. not less than 14 MX pairs
    no Qualification round at all...????
btw what INA time will the game starts tmrw ??

    Interesting 1st round match-ups

    Men's Singles

Chen Jin [4] vs Chen Long - Will the senior be ordered to give way to the junior to move up in the ranking?

Hu Yun vs Kenichi Tago - China-born player vs Japanese rising star...

Bao Chunlai [3] vs Boonsak Ponsana - A possible banana skin for the 3rd seed...

Lu Yi vs Gong Weijie - A rematch of 2nd round last week...

Taufik Hidayat [7] vs Hafiz Hashim - A tricky opener for both...

    Quickie rundown on the draws..

    ..here are last yr's winners:
    MS-Lin Dan (absent)
    WS-Xie Xingfang (absent)
    MD-Fu Haifeng & Cai Yun
    WD-Lilyana Natsir & Vita Marissa
XD-Zheng Bo & Gao Ling (absent)

    Looking quickly at the draws:
MS - CJ should be able to come out from the top half of the draw. Bottom half of the draw is very competitive. I don't think Sony will repeat his Japan Open performance and win.
WS - Tine will have a chance another chance to play WYH again before the Final in the bottom half. Same can be said with Lu Lan as she'll have another crack against Zhou Mi in the other half.
WD - A small field. Last yr's defending champs are back and they will have a tough go should they meet this past week's Japan Open's WD winners. In the upper half, the current Olympics WD winners should come out & be in the Finals.
MD - Last yr's defending champs are also back. But both halves will be very competitive, as it seems like there's no cake walk all the way to the Finals.
XD - A small field but both halves are also very competitive. Last week's Japan Open's XD winners are grouped in the same half as the current World Champions. And i doubt the former will repeat and win here.

Releasing the draw on the eve of a Badminton tournament ?

    .
That's what I thought too. However, no 'New Draw' can be found up to now.

Are the tournament organisers releasing the draw like what was discussed in this thread?

Yeah, no redraw so far. Tournament software still put the same draw, and I couldn't open BWF version in their sites. Gee... so many withdrawal, so less players, what happened there? Super Series no longer interesting for players?

    Interesting 1st and 2nd round match-ups

    Women's Singles

Zhu Lin [3] vs Eriko Hirose - A rematch of 1st round last week... Nightmare for Zhu

Wong Mew Choo [4] vs Wang Lin - Should be a very close match and I think Wang Lin will win this time.

    Possible matches:
Lu Lan vs Zhou Mi [6] - Will Zhou bt Lu 5 times in a row?

Wang Yi han vs Wang Chen [5] - Seems that all ppl will paw WYH ;)
