Glad you agree with me on the potential saving on lenses if one had a camera with excellent high ISO capability. If you had bought and were happy with the 5D Mark II, then no, don't buy an upgrade. There would have to be another compelling reason. I must say that after getting into DSLR, I take waay more photos. Not all good, sad to say, but keeps me fairly happy. Didn't get good shots of my daughter last week at an indoor gym with her sports event. ISO 1600 but AF not able to work well. Lost a lot of shots - however I have had good shots (priceless) in the past. Just thinking further along the ISO part, I wonder if technology is getting close to showing very little quality difference between ISO100 and ISO800 (i.e. very good now) making low ISO almost irrelevant in terms of noise issues. I would guess a new 5D Mark II would be placed under 3000USD but you never know till it arrives.
A bit off topic-Well.. ...i wasn't really in agreement of the suggestion; rather giving another possible scenario if that were to happen. Anyway, i guess it's down to the individual's preference and priority (and to an extent.....budget) in deciding which equipments to invest in??... *Since we're discussing the new 5DMkII, i'm not sure if you want to keep this current discussion in this thread or not??
Haha, we can split the thread when the camera comes out. Or we can incorporate it into Mark III picture quality vs 5D mark II picture quality. Hope the new camera comes soon. Then, I might not keep thinking about a Mark III.
i have 1 question here... does SONY CYBER SHOT camera can shot good quality badminton action?? looking forward to buy this camera
A bit off topic-Hmm.. ..i have a feeling, after the 5D MarkII comes out, then we'll see another version thereafter...And same thing with the 1D version, a MarkIV will probably come out in the future....Yup, that's technology, as it keeps improving on and on and on... george@chongwei, regarding your query, you can read the other threads that are in the Badminton Photography sub-forum and find the answer(s); look under P&S (point & shoot) related cameras topics.
I've been using it for 3 months now. And the shutter count has reached 25000+ but what I wanna say is it really let me down! The thing that i've got to blame is perhaps the color sensor. Unless I shoot outdoor, it hardly get the color right! No matter how I change the white balance setting! Presets, custom K setting or even checking with a white card! Colors of images are always inaccurate!!! It's something that really shouldn't be found from what we call a "PRO CAMERA"! Do u guys have any comment? Kwun?
25,000+ in 3 months... wow. yeah. the auto WB is not good. but then i have never seen a camera with a good auto white balance. even D3 has pretty bad auto wb.
Thanks Kwun OK, Red. I'll be really generous with a great deal - swop your MarkIII for my 30D. No need for you to sweeten the deal with cash on your part
really? but have u compared it with a mk2n kwun? if u have done that. you probably wanna smash your mk3 into pieces!
