    I'd say Gadde acquitted herself well losing a hard-fought, tight, three-setter, 21-19 in G3.

Lee Hyun Il almost lost the match when he was trailing 1-8 at the second game after losing the first set.

To LHI's credit, he fought back and turned the tables on his opponent, thereby demonstrating his masterliness.

No, she should've won the match.
Ruthvika can be deceptive and also have the "Japanese" skills. She just lacks self confidence.
If she was able to keep her progress at steady pace then you would've been commenting otherwise.

Alas, her injuries hindered it, and even after years in senior circuit she's not "there" yet, and hence lack of confidence. No short of talent ,maybe a lil slow to be an elite as of now, but seriously if you watch the match, you would know. Guess we have to wait a lil longer before she has her breakthrough

Why was LSH paired with SSC??
Don't tell me the Koreans are again shuffling pairs, if they continue doing it they'll never have their own "TakaMatsu" or Pedersen/Juhl

If it wasn't just one tourney experiment, does this mean after the WC, KHAN and JKE will be reunited? Or CYN/JKE or CYN/KHN. That'll be interesting

I do not know CYN's status (injury or resting) but it doesn't hurt to give SSC more playing time.
all, if any, relevant shuffling will occur after wc. This pretty much goes for all teams.

If LSH/SSC show high potential as a pair after the u.s. open I would not be surprised if they stay together after Scotland. If the goal is 2020, and stretching to 2024, I would keep them together. There's more, and longer, upside for them as a pair. CYN's best days are behind her.

So the old man is still playing better than most youngsters. :D It's a pity he missed his chance to win OG bronze medals at Beijing 2008 and London 2012.

From my perspective, Saena Kawakami's last several performances so promising and I think she will grab the title here.

    Most possible scenarios:

    SF WS:
Saena Kawakami vs Sayaka Takahashi : Saena wins
Jeon Joo I vs Aya Ohori : Aya Ohori wins

    Final WS:
Saena Kawakami vs Aya Ohori : Saena wins

It's time to reunite the young pair as Jung Kyung Eun and Chang Ye Na already gave them precious experiences.

Lee So He & Shin Seung Chan were 2x Junior Champions (2011 & 2012) and also 2015 Summer Universiade Champion

TakaMatsu or Pedersen/Juhl are the same ages pair while LSH partnering with SSC in their junior times then splitted becomes senior/junior partnership. I'm sure JKE and CYN will be retiring in such a couple months (maybe Korean SS will be their last performance)

looks like experience over youth, gilmour knocks out ohori.
gilmour pulls away decisively after each mid-game interval.

takahashi currently in full control over tam 21-12, 14-9...
kawakami leading suzuki 15-12 in the 3rd...

Ohori looked rusty to me, Ruthvika should have brushed her aside imo. She just couldn't herself believe of doing that. If only she was fortunate enough like the other youngsters say CYF, Pornpawee C, etc and had no hinderances with injuries and breaks, she couldve.
Anyways , really happy for Gilmour, after CWG, I expected a lot from her, she looked stagnant or even a lil downway, good to see her back in form

Also, pretty disappointing to see Sikki/PJC going down to a scratch pair, I mean I know its a Korean scratch pair, and SSC is pretty good and all. But the fact that it was so close yet they couldn't pull it off is more disappointing.
They've been there for quite some time now, still searching to create a mark.

Kento Momota making a nice comeback, slow and steady, I think.

Aya Ohori disappoints but Kirsty is never an easy opponent for anyone. Saena looks good for the title now.

LHI made so many mistakes in his semi today which was a shame. Momota played a decent game, good to watch him again.

Side note, good to see Momota back to international tournaments though

Kento Momota lost in the final of his comeback tournament to Kanta Tsuneyama. It looked like Momota's shot quality isn't quite where it needs to be yet. He made too many mistakes and seemed a bit impatient in some rallies. It will probably take some time for him to get sharp again.

Between July 5 to 8, i.e., just before the Canada Open, Kento Momota played for his team, NTT East, in the All Japan Professional Team Competition. And, as he had to qualify for the main draw at the Canada Open, he played two more games than Tsuneyama before making it to the final. I do not believe that Momota has lost his edge..., he was just exhausted. As he mentioned in his post-match interview with J-Sports, stamina was an issue ...his body refused to move.

Nah, Momota could've won it if he was patient enough and played safe and made Tsuneyama run around mote in G3. Right after the match, Tsuneyama couldn't even jump to celebrate as he was kneeling and sitting on the ground from his legs all cramped up...

Is this momota first lost in a final of an official international competition? I was expecting him to win (like what LCW did when he returned from ban a few years ago). He need more points to play in top tier tournaments.
