Just wondering if anyone here plays at C1 in Cap U.

Dropped by a couple months ago and it seems like there's only a gym floor facility

I went to the sports complex and glanced at the schedule and it seems like C1 Cap U only has a couple slots for badminton

Are those times only for training or they open to drop-ins?

    Can anyone here confirm this?

I'm trying to find a place to play in the North Shore during week nights

Went to Rec-centre at parkgate and it was a joke

Try John Braithwaite Community Centre on Wed nights or Delbrook on Thu nights. They are listed in the North Van Rec Guide if you go to the North Van Rec Commission website.

Been to John Braithwaite and Delbrook. Don't like either of them

Johb Braithwaite is like playing in an underground jail cell

Parkgate - don't like playing on the concrete floor (knee killer) + multiple court lines

North Shore Neigbourhood House - multiples court lines and lighting is horrible

Delbrook - multiple court lines, over crowded, floresent lights are right in your face

Enough of be ranting about ridiculous places to play in North Van

I should say "looking for a dedicated badminton centre" on the North Shore

Till a get a response from someone that played a C1 Cap U then it seems like Richmond is where its at ... unfortunately

    Hmmm.
You could also check out Renfrew Community Centre at Renfrew and 22nd. Not too far for you.

Tues and Sun 8-10pm drop in, $6, Aeroplane feather birds included. Level ranges from intermediate to advanced. But gotta sign up half hour before to guarantee a spot. Call them first re times.

There is no dedicated badminton facility in the North Shore. The closest one would be the Vancouver Racquets Club. It is about a 20 minute drive in non-rush hour traffic. You would have to play 2-3 three times a week to make the membership worth your while. Cheaper rates for students as well. You get a key and access to the facility 25/7.
