The biggest prize-money of badminton tournament in HSBC-BWF World Tour level 2. A challenging task for BWF, stake holders and local organizer how to elevate and define Super 1000 tournaments into new dimension in terms of quality standard, attractiveness, tradition, glamourous, prestige to draw spectators to watch the elites delivering their best there. As usual All England had defined highest benchmark and did fantastic job last March, we’ll see how the two others could equalize it. Theoretically only top-32 WR players who have their right in Super 1000 considering all badminton fans will be treated by high quality and entertaining match since opening round, but looking at WD & XD draw, so many low-ranked pairs get their opportunity to take part here, nothing different with Superseries format despite level Super 1000 & 750 as well don’t require qualification round. Fortunately singles category is going to normal landscape as expected. Men’s Singles World champion Viktor Axelsen has very stern test to start his campaign, Jonatan Christie. Axelsen must be ready mentally to neutralize the noisy homecrowd to support their heart-throb. Once again the Chinese trio are drawn in same half with top-seed. Another opening round that should pay attention is Kento Momota v Srikanth Kidambi, unfavourable for both players who meet too early in top-tier tournament, rematch of MAS Super 750 semifinal. Lee Chong Wei also has no less pressure to eye 7th INA Open title, against resilient HKG representative Angus Ng Ka Long. Taufik Hidayat & Lee Chong Wei become most successful MS to win six times INA Open A "haunted" tournament for China MS, the last player bagged title was Xiong Guobao in 1989 Women’s Singles No less than four seeded players have complicated task to pass, Pusarla Sindhu v Pornpawee Chochuwong, Carolina Marin v Sayaka Sato, He Bingjiao v Cheung Ngan Yi and Akane Yamaguchi v Nitchaon Jindapol. It will be daunting mission for Sayaka Sato to repeat last year her surprising victory Indonesia legendary Susi Susanti pocketed most INA Open titles (6), followed by Chinese formidable and famous WS in 80's era, Li Lingwei (4) and Saina Nehwal (3) Men’s Doubles Gideon/Sukamuljo have unfinished business here to clinch maiden INA Open crown, they will take on illustrious senior compatriot, Ahsan/Setiawan in first round Newly-crowned Kamura/Sonoda will be tested by local hopeful Alfian/Ardianto Women’s Doubles Many unfamiliar names despite top-ranked stay in the fray of brand new BWF World Tour Once again World champion Chen/Jia will face Korean veteran pair Chang YN/Jung KE Home favourites Polii/Rahayu are barricaded by three Japanese leading combination, Fukushima/Hirota, Matsutomo/Takahashi, Tanaka/Yonemoto. Mixed Doubles Most of INA hopefuls in this department occupy upper-half of draw alongside with Tang CM/Tse YS, Christiansen/Pedersen, Zhang N/Li YH. Barring any upsets, two Chinese strong contenders are slated to meet in semifinal, their biggest stumbling block will coming from The Adcocks or All England Champion Watanabe/Higashino as both of them have possible clash in last sixteen. Player's Withdrawal : MS - Jeon Hyeok Jin (KOR) WS - Lee Jang Mi (KOR) MD - Kittinupong Kedren/Dechapol Puavaranukroh (THA) WD - Tania Oktaviani Kusumah/Vania Arianti Sukoco (INA) XD - NONE ROUND OF 32 is scheduled in two days to avoid late night matches. Why is it only Kevin wearing yellow in the banner? Hopefully it actually reflects what they will be wearing in this tournament.
Wonder if any of the All England winners can repeat victory here and make it 2/3 Super 1000s (and eventually hat trick 3/3). More straightforward this time than winning all 5 SSPs. Thinking maybe TTY can do it this year if her form holds until China Open.
After Jeon Hyeok Jin withdraws he has been replaced by Kanta Tsuneyama who will play Jorgensen in round 1. A good chance for Jorgensen to redeem himself after losing to him in Thomas cup and therefore DEN lost.
Lin Dan to lose in R1 ? To Prannoy ? As far as AG spot is concerned, Lin Dan has lost interest after losing to Shi Yuqi in R2 last week despite Chen Long crashing out in R1. Supposing he wants to redeem himself here and get a better seeding for the Nanjing WC, at least maintain his WR8 position ?
As posted earlier by @CLELY above, the live-streams start from Round of 32. https://livestreaming.djarumbadminton.com/#!/ While Live TV coverage on Trans7 will start tomorrow (July 4, 2018)
Not working for me. Even the videostream is taking 50% of my CPU just for one live streaming? Usually I could open multiple windows without any problem at all.
Somebody has stated a while ago that it actually uses your CPU for crypto mining. I'm always hoping that Fitriani girl will have her breakthrough, but I think it's time to accept she's slightly mediocre.
