Korea ended their journey in mixed double category after their three pairs down in Round of 16.

First seed Kim Won Ho/Lee Yu Rim cannot overcome home soil and 11th seed pair Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari. Previously two others Korean pairs Na Sung Seung/Seong Ah Yeong and Wang Chan/Kim Min Ji, 2nd seed and 5th seed respectively lost against two unseeded Chinese pairs Fan Qiuyue/Liu Xuanxuan and Liu Shiwen/Li Wenmei. All matches lasted in straight games and under 40 minutes.

Damn, Asuka Takahashi, what was that? I switched on half way during the first game and from then on she made no less than nine (!) direct return-of-serve-errors.

Unexpectedly to me, Zhou Meng, who is also playing WD, knocked out the 2nd seed, Yeo Jia Min, in two straight sets to boot.

Only Asian players seem to do that though. Never seen European female players cut off their hair. You never see it in Tennis either.

    LOL No.

I have a feeling it's their coaches telling them to do it. Never came across a woman in real life, athlete or otherwise, who wanted to chop her hair off.

    Christo popov in the quarter.
À french guy in quarter is pretty uncommon, but he is also only 15 years old. Damn.

    QF-BS :

    Top Half:
    • Kunlavut Vitidsarn [1] vs Takuma Obayashi
    • Gao Zhengze vs Nguyen Nhat [8]

    Bottom Half:
Christo Popov [14] vs Leong Jun Hao [4]
    • Kodai Naraoka [6] vs Lakshya Sen [2]

Ireland and France are both surprising for being quarter finalist.

Seeing nhat Here is less surprising he has done well during last year.

But popov is only 15. I see both of them and merkle against danes in european championship.
Ànd popov french champion in 2/3 years.

Korea has 1 MD and 1 WD at QF stage, either the competition is very strong or their players are tired from the Korean Nationals. Turkey also has 1 WD pair in QF!
