Just tried to play with BG88Ti tonight (24 lbs, on a Carbonex 20 Tour racquet). It feels quite good - it is highly resilient and doesn't have the slippery problem of other Ti strings. In terms of control, it is excellent even in compare with BG85 (however I'm not a control style player, :)). In terms of power, it is also not bad, but I need to have more experience with this string before making any conclusion (I'll try to string it on some of my favorite racquets next time).

p.s. This is the first time I play with Cab 20 Tour, it's balance is quite good and have more power than normal Cab 20.

    thanks ricky.
based on the yonex specification and string development trend, i think bg88ti is the 'finally got it right' string after learning the + and - from many of its precessor strings 85ti, 80, 70ro, 68ti, 75ti etc.

HK$168 per pack, including labor. Only available in Emmy so far, will be available on Luxis very soon (they have already placed the order). Honest speaking, this is quite expensive.

Based on the 2 hours experience, I probably say it is something similar to BG85 and BG66 (very likely better than BG80). I've tried all Ti strings (BG65Ti, BG68Ti and BG75Ti) and all of them have the slippery problem, but this is not significant in BG88Ti.

I was talking about the feeling of the string (I know the difference - 0.66mm and 0.67mm vs 0.69mm). I almost always use BG85 so far. BG88Ti is the first Ti string which I found handy. One of the noticeable difference b/w them is BG85 is softer.

According to Yonex specification, BG88Ti should have the best control among all Yonex strings, and its power may not match those strings like BG85 and BG66. The 1st impression to me is pretty close (but I think the power is quite good, cannot 100% sure whether it can match BG85 or not).

Since it is more durable than BG85 (consider its thickness and Titanium nature), if its price can come down to ~HK$100, I think it may be a better buy (at least to me :)).

    Pete,

usually bulk rolls are not available on most except the most popular strings. you can get it for bg65 and bg80, and i think you can't even get them for bg85. so you will be out of luck for any other newer and fancier once...

not sure why, either a Yonex marketing thingy, or just that there are no demand..

Cooler and Kwun have made the right guess. BG88Ti is available in single pack at this moment (even in Japan).

I don't know this as I always have the shop to string for me. Shops here also rarely list the price for string alone.

For BG88Ti, its listed price is 1,200 yen in Japan. Based on the markup of other products imported from Japan, the string itself should sell for within HK$100. Therefore the labor cost is around HK$60-70.

i think yonex has no idea how receptive with any new product.
take bg80, first year just single packets, second year, 100m roll only, only at least 3 year passed have before they offered 200m reel
