if you are serious in badminton go buy a graphite one piece racket! its cheap nowadays and you can play better with it i am very sure!
Support u Kwun! Footwork is the most powerful weapon but at the same time is the most hard to learn. My footwork is sucks, maybe is because I learn badminton by my own. I wanna improve it but seems hard especially when in game, can't control myself XD
Thank you for all the precious comment. Now I'm fully confident to advise my friend that, racket is not really important. Smashing alone wouldn't win you games. Thanks again guys, you all are the best.
ofcourse it is. If you don't have good footwork you will miss oportunity to havr a good shot. Smash, netkill, netting etc. Or even worse your opponent will make you out of breath with drop shot and attacking clear or drop left and right.
Thanks for your advices. I totally agreed that footwork is with prime importance unless your other skills are really inferior.
Good Footwork is Most Important Thanks for the enlightenment. I really found something new here. Makes me realize that there's no point to have the best stroke in world if you can't get there on time. Even a new expensive racket won't help. As time goes by I'm more heavier than I was before. When I'm about twenty years old I'm only 55 kg. Now I'm 70 kg. It feels very hard for me to move like I did many years ago. Now it's almost impossible for me to perform a jump-smash. I'll be out of energy and out of breath if I do it a lot. As I'm getting older my stamina drop also. Badminton is a very physically demanding. So I think having a good stamina will also help a lot beside good footwork. More than new model top of the line high end racket.
i think the best footwork practice besides drills is playing singles a lot...when we doing good footwork on singles...it will be easier when we play on doubles (on footwork & stamina matter) ....but the common problem is that sometimes we do not have time or chance to play singles...since the court is always used to be played doubles..especially if the members are many or the court has just a single line. :crying: CMIIW
Drills ain't meant for playing games. If you want the most outcome, Skip (Using a Skipping Rope) or play Imagery Shuttle cock to work on your footwork. You don't need a court for that haha. I use to think that playing with higher level will always make me gradually learn from their expertise but it's not always the case. If you want to have better footwork and stamina, work on your legs. If you want to have a better smash, train your legs. If you want to have better latter movement to the net play, train your legs. Everyone doesn't like it because our legs are the most BRUTAL thing to work out on. Who cares with the skills that come after from the footwork because before you know it, You'll be flying high.
I say, when you practice without a good racket at the start you'll ber able to find what style you are more comfirtable with and improve from there, i started like a chracter in maplestory if i looked back, dont know what kind of knight i am til i leveled up then i get to pick which kindof kngiht i am a archer light warrior . etc, i started off just a player a beginner than when i got better i became a offensive player and improve my game into an all-rounder tactical offensive player thats when i started with a more costly racket (Arcsaber10) wheni started with a 50$ racket of Head
