Wed. - bravo 5:00am, bravo 11:00am Thurs. - msnbc 4:00am, bravo 6:00am, bravo 7:00am, msnbc 11:00am, msnbc 12:00pm Really does seem like a busy schedule. I hope I can watch them all.
Well, the TV schedule on the NBC Olympics website lists the Bravo times for this morning as 2 AM and 8 AM. The schedule hasn't been totally reliable so far. Once, I tuned in to see badminton and they had table tennis instead. Then, Tuesday morning, it was supposed to start at 4 AM and was already on by about 3:55.
U.S. Olympic Coverage Ok, I am happy with the coverage of badminton done by Bravo. Finally some badminton on U.S. TV!!!!! But my gosh, the commentary is horrible. That is just my opinion, but what do others people think? What type of commentary would be good for watching badminton on TV? P.S. Congratulations to Howard Bach and Kevin Han for advancing further than any other American in the Olympics. While I may have some criticisms of the way the played, I have nothing but the utmost respect for their abilities and accomplishments. Ha ha plus they would definitely kill me if I tried to play against them. Take care, Toddster
and it is over....very short. Wow, CH got beat.....very impressive....especially the opponet is unseeded.
I thought the commentary was rather amusing. During the Gade-Taufik Match, they were saying something like "Shuttle feathers only come from the left wing of a goose. But this doesn't mean that there are lots of geese flying in circles above China! The chinese are resourceful, and eat the geese too."
gotta give those guys some credit though, they have quite little background on the sports and have to talk for minutes on end. they seemed to have done some homework but of course, most of us here will know more than they do...
They said the feathers are from the left wing of the bird because of consistency, which is only 50% right. From text books, the reason that shuttles are from the left wing is because birds use left wing to control the direction, so the left wing has more precisions than the right wing, which is the source of power/strength to birds.
WATCH OUT FOR TOMORROW's MATCH on BRAVO!!! I just check Bravo's schedule, and It looks like we will have a big badminton day for tomorrow!! 8/19 from 6:15AM Badminton – Women’s Singles Gold Medal Final (LIVE) from 7:00AM Badminton – Women’s Singles Gold Medal Final (LIVE) Badminton – Men’s Doubles Semifinals from 8:00AM Badminton – Men’s Doubles Semifinals So, we will (supposed, if NBC don't change the schedule) have 2 hours of nonstoping badminton time!!!!! Finally!! Yeah!!
Also!! on MSNBC tomorrow from 11AM to 1PM (probably 11:30-12:30): Badminton – Mixed Doubles Gold Medal Finals
You can use the online site: http://www.nbcolympics.com/tvlistings/index.html to see the time or you can use TV guide channel at your TV .
would these be exact times from the NBC/Bravo/etc. bottom of the screen updates? or from the website? The website seems to be off a little here and there, so I wanted to confirm before setting the old VCR
If the games are being broadcast live, I don't think we'll need to worry as much about the times being changed on us
