Many times they have come so close to win titles but they self destruct instead. For example the World Championship 2010, after winning a set, goes on to lose to Cai/Fu. All England 2011 too, a lot of leads in the final game and finally lose to Boe/Mog. They have nothing but themselves to blame for being too passive they had the chance.
Lacking the mental edge I guess. On the other hand Hendra in that stretch of 10 years (with Kido and Ahsan ) enjoyed magnificent 1 Olympic Gold, 3 World Champions Gold, 2 Asian Games Champions Gold, 2 Asian Championships Gold, 3 South East Asian Gold, 18 Superseries and Superseries Premier titles. Let's see if Hendra could work his wonders again.
Two long, tough matches for Chen Long coming into the final, let's see how he cope; physically, I believe he can.
Actually I don't like to see Chen Long turning his back to play the backhand even though he's got a pretty good backhand, he's doing it too often and may be read and caught by his opponent who begins to read it.
Srikanth's excellent form continues, Chen Long not quite at his best, esp after his match with Lin Dan
Srikanth seems to be peaking at this time, far in advance of the WC, can he maintain it till then ? Most would prefer and make preparations to peak at the right time during the Worlds, I believe.
