Hey Ayl, Pecheur, hehe, just in case you didn't realise, NZ beat Australia both in soccer and in rugby! :)

The All Whites beat the Socceroos 1-0 to qualify for the Confederation Cup final (probably to be held in France next year ) and in the process, earned them US 1 million dollars! The socceroo's coach described that Australian soccer has hit rock bottom..made one think doesn't it? How can you hit rock bottom when you never actually progressed beyond rock bottom? :p

As for the defending world champion Wallabies, well, well, well, the Bledisloe Cup is coming back to NZ! Well, at least, half of it is at the moment..hehe :) Maybe if Gregan uses his hands more than his mouth on the field, the Wallabies might have been in with a chance..but oh well. One more win in Sydney, in 3 weeks time, and Eddie Jones (Australian coach) can also lament the loss to the All blacks as Australian rugby hitting rock bottom :p *grin* :D

Oh for you non-australiasian ppl out there, hehe, Kiwis and Aussies giving each other a hard time is kinda like US vs Canada rivalry or England vs Scotland / Ireland etc.

    In Australia's defence ;)

Cheeky kiwi ;) Yes it was a baaad weekend for Aussie sport

    At least we have:
    1. Qualified for the world cup before, I don't think NZ ever has (just don't ask how many times ;))
    2. Won the last three Bledisloes.

And we'll always win the cricket ;)

PS Did you watch the match? Umpire got soft in the dieing minutes, that professional foul should've resulted in a penalty try, not a send off, meaning that Australia would've at least drawn if not won ;)

    Re: In Australia's defence ;)

First of all, 1. We've qualified once too thankyouverymuch..and yes, like the Aussies, only once. :p

    2. okie, can't argue about the last 3 bledisloes..but at least we didn't lose to both France and England in ONE season :p

As for the match..nah, he was right not to award the penalty tries because:
    a) If Robinson didn't do the early tackle, he would have been able to tackle Herbert a split second later (which would have been an ordinary tackle)
    b) Cullen was at the line anyhow to stop him even if he gets pass Robinson in the first place..so probability of a try if he didn't get early tackle too low to be awarded penalty try. Even Herbert mentioned that later in the post match conference..so there! :p

And..we were leading 12-6 at that point, sorry, only a converted try would have given the Aussies a win, but if not converted, obviously still lose at 12-11. Hehe, so no draw! :p

Okay so we both suck at soccer (though Harry Kewell and Mark Viduka are probably worth more than the entire NZ team ;))

Yes we managed to lose to both France and England, but when was the last time NZ won a World Cup and how many times? I think Australia's won 2 out of 4, with NZ once in 1987.

We can debate the penalty forever so it's probably not worth it ...

PS I note you didn't mention the cricket

Re: Re: Re: In Australia's defence ;)

It's the team..not the players..maybe this highlights why Aussies are so good at individual sports, look at Ian Thorpe and Lyetton Hewitt..because Aussies or selfish, or perhaps unlike the other menfolk in Australia, Ian and Lyetton actually stayed away from their animal stocks..*duck* :p

Yes, admittedly the Australian cricket players are good, but one has to question the brains behind the Aussie cricket with the dropping of its captain Mark Waugh :p. And my only rebutt to the so-called prowness of the Aussie Cricketeers is two words : Shane Warne!! *giggles* That in itself is enough to make it worthwhile to be a kiwi! :D

Nasty ;) I think the problem with our soccer team was that we didn't have a lot of our good players since they are all in Europe, still should've beaten the Kiwi's even with a second string side though ;)

Also Steve was captain, not Mark, and the one-day side is doing alright (though losing to Pakistan wasn't good, however good for their egos to lose occasionally). Actually I think long term it's not a bad thing, one day cricket is just too intense, means that Steve can play a couple more years of test cricket.

Warney is a tosser, no arguments ;) Good bowler though. Vettori is getting better too, could well become NZ's first great bowler since Hadlee.

If we're going to mention the cricket, let's not forget the recent tri-series in Aussie when the Aussies didn't make it to the final! :)

    Good Point!

Good Point chrisgin! *looks at Pecheur* nah nah nah nah..what made it sweeter was the fact that the bonus point system created by the Aussies ironically was also the cause of their downfall in the Tri-series..:p

Agreed that Au is best in test match cricket but how did they achieve it. I remember so many occasions when peter parker, steve randall and so many more umpires Goof so badly in test cricket to Give Au the easy wins in test matches.

So never ever talk abt missed chances or bad calls fella. It is the name of the game. Somdays are good and some are bad. pls dont try to justify anything.

It does not matter how u win. They fact is who won. Dont we all remember how the underarm ball was bowled?

But the result stays. There are so many occasions in the history of cricket when reasons can be given to bad calls that change the result. So fella No excuses.

So the deal is That NZ was better today and lets admit it.In a war there will be soem days when teh opponent wins but then we have to win the war! Ithink Nz had a Good day and let us acknowledge it.

So haev fun and cheers to NZ for being the better team TODAY.
