Attention Malaysians (and Singaporeans), I know it's a bit short notice but i just heard this on the news, RTM 1 will be broadcasting a recording of the All England (mens singles final only I presume) tonight - 19th Feb - at 9pm. Unfortunately, I don't have a VCR so I can't do a taping for you guys. Sorry. But if you like I could explain what happens to you
the WHOLE thing? Thanks for the notice Just wondering where you heard it, Because the newspapers dont have it. But either way i'll look out for it
I heard about it (by chance actually) on the 6o'clock news on RTM1. Actually I never watch RTM news but the TV was on and I happened to be around. Lucky me.
Supersports To viewers in Msia /Sing. Supersports will show men's semis and finals at 1.30 pm this Sataurday.Duration is 2 hrs.
bbn, hi, i was just wondering where you manage to get all your info on badminton? seems like you receive much info on results, telecast etc before i hear of it... any particular connections or do you just happen to tune in to the right places?
Hi Libra, AStro Supersports will always show badminton on weekends, Just check the Astro web-site under Channel Listings. For Live Telecasts, check ESPN Starsports site on Fridays.
Astro Supersports showed 1 hour of CH vs Roslin and the full version of CH vs. Hafiz. Sunday 23/02/03 7.00 pm will carry live the Swiss Open on Astro Supersports.
THOSE PEOPLE IN SINGAPORE ive checked and no badminton results were shown on scv. If anyone here knows if there is.. pls tell us... saturday 4.30 22nd now.
Sorry to people in Singapore. I assumed Supersports was like Starsports, ie. every country buys time on a fixed common schedule. Obviously Supersports not like that, or perhaps there was too much politics involved, as Supersports aired it courtesy of RTM and just showed Msia 's winning ways. Maybe the Swiss Open tomorrow is shared. Who owns Supersports anyway?
I've waited long enough to watch the All-England but, instead, SuperSports was only able to air the Finals of the China Open at 5 p.m. yesterday, Sunday. Anyway, it was a delight to watch Wong Choon Hann patiently ripping Chen Hong apart in three games, after having lost the first. Looks like Chen Hong is not having his way against the Malaysians with his subsequent loss to Hafiz at the All-England.
Is Hafiz going the way of other one hit wonders like Ji Xin Peng or Gopichand. Not so much being distracted rather whether he has versatility to meet new challenges now that he is the one to beat. Will Chen Hong go the way of Dong Jiong, self destruction, always making an easy job very difficult. Should he be less flamboyant and be more down to earth in his game?
Looks like it is much more difficult to stay on top. Thanks to the introduction of badminton into the Olympics, many other hitherto non-badminton countries are taking to the game. This bodes well for the popularity of world badminton and at the same time raise the game to a higher level. Top players will have to be at their best, and espeically in good form, to beat the rest of the field. Different players bring to the game different styles and strategies and it takes a very intelligent, gifted and flexible player to adapt to a different opponent each time. The challenge thrown to Hafiz by Eddy Choong to better the latter's All-England effort of 4 singles and 2 doubles titles is a tall order indeed. Hafiz has also to contend with equally talented players at home, and many more in the production line!
