I think they think their big name would sell alot without even trying to market it. Here ini Indo, it sit on Giant Mall store which we all image it, all mall stuff are rather expensive. Its been there for a while but i myself never really want it regardless the good review coz its totally unknown brand on badminton world. Seriously Adidas... & Its not cheap either. 2.5M IDR for P8... That time YY AX88 sell below that price & its YY, famous badminton brand with strong branding. I wouldnt fated with P8 if no beginner buy it & end up dislike it.
Change in management, less sales than expected (of course... there was a worldwide pandemic going on) and that's it basically. To put this into perspective, Adidas as a whole has an annual revenue of around 25 billion USD (2021). Having to scrap stock for a couple of hundred thousand USD (if it even was that much) is nothing but peanuts. For reference, Yonex had a revenue of around 565 million USD in 2022. Which was a whopping +44% coming from the pandemic '21, and still +20% compared to the pre-pandemic '19 (https://www.wsj.com/market-data/quotes/JP/7906/financials/annual/income-statement). Very interesting. If a beginner buys the most extreme spec'ed racket out of the whole portfolio and ends up disliking it, that is not the fault of the brand. Just saying. Adidas had a whole bunch of really well performing mid- and low-end rackets but due to the almost non-existent marketing and bad availability, they just couldn't reach the average Joe and Jane casual badminton players. But we've been through this a couple of times now. And I think we all agree that if you gave the existing Adidas product lineup to a company with more patience and that really knows the badminton market and how to promote stuff, they would have sold sh*tloads. From rackets to bags to shoes to shuttles to clothes - heck, even the strings were really good.
Oh wow, you are right! This is what I found about P8 Shock https://trangsports.com/en/product/wucht-p8-schock-solar-red-4u/
I prefer the Kalkul and Uberschall range rather than Wucht. I used Victor Bravesword, Jetspeed and Auraspeed ranges for many years so I'm used to fast frames.
How well does the Uberschall F5 fare in this day and age? Looking for a speedy racket with some head weight and a different feel to it. I usually play with TC70C but it's a bit too heavy and feels hollow to me.
Speedy racket with some weight? Jetspeed 12 (or one of its variations like the M or the ii) or the Auraspeed 90k (or its variation 90kii)
