Hm, Felix Burestedt apparently beat Anders Antonsen in straight sets. This is supposed to be Felix’s last international tournament before retiring, and, at least on paper, this may well be the biggest win of his career. Way to go. I suspect Anders was not playing at his best though.
Felix won 2-0 and is through. Rubber set between Antonsen and Koljonen starts now. Even if A wins it he will have fewer sets than K (4-3 vs 5-3), so it looks like A is out. Unless sets is not the tiebreaker. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Heh.. There is not exact common definition for Scandinavia. You don't even need that word in ordinary talk. I prefer talking abaut Nordic countries. They are northern Europe between Russia and Atlantic Ocean, plus Iceland .added
Christo Popov used his racket to block the net kill twice and scored the points. I am confused about the rules. Sometimes this is allowed (such as in this case), and sometimes it is instantly called fault. I tried researching on the internet including in this forum and found no clear answer for this.
Most of times net blocking is ok and pro players don't hesitate to do it. Only you should do it from your own side and you should not let the opponents racket touch your racket when he is following through to your side
Ouch, I missed that. Match point lost through a blocked netkill. Should hurt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Anyone knows how Victor's contract with Badminton Denmark works in terms of coaching? Instead of his own coach, Victor has the danish national coaches at the moment. Is this provided because this is sort of a "European" tournament, in which Victor represents Denmark?
Christo did another successful net block against Misha today. Lets see if he manages to do it against Victor tomorrow
Marin made a hand gesture with 7 fingers after winning gold. Did she mistaken this tournament for European Championships? Aren't they two different tournaments? Indeed, Marin won gold 6 times in European Championships, the last one from 2022 in Madrid. This is however the first time she won gold in European games, the first edition of the event took place only in 2015.
