ML takes first game with yet another net kill. that was very sharp!

Incredibly well played by Michelle towards the end of that game. Measured aggression, and really intent on closing down the net. Go Canada!

Interesting that her coach speaks to her in what I assume is Mandarin (pls dont hate me if I'm wrong :D).

I am not 100% sure but her coach looks like Jennifer Lee from Lee's badminton in Toronto. She was originally from HK which means they might be speaking Cantonese.

If the coach is Jennifer (slightly plumplish lady), then it's Cantonese :)

Sindhu changed to rally game. ML is not as stable.

ML has the advantage here, she is making all the good shots. but can she keep up this pace?

Once Sindhu anticipates your shots she makes her height and reach count, so you must try to keep her guessing and try to the shuttle early.

As a Doubles / Mixed Player, can't wait for the mx to start. But can't decide if I am more with Malaysia or with Poland. Mateusiak & Zieba are playing the tournament of their life. Tactically they are the best pair of the whole olympics so far. Absolutely brilliant play. The only pair which is tactically on par with Zhang / Zhao.

Ko/Kim vs. Xu/Ma will be interesting, too. Very similar style. Big gun at the back and a blocking female who is taking out the pace of the rallys.

Yeah, although I would argue that Ko is by far the smarter player of the two males, but Ma Jin the stronger lady.
