Denmark is overwhelming favourite for Men's team event as this European badminton powerhouse also one of Thomas Cup strong contenders next May. In women's team, Spanish sensation Carolina Marin and Danish world #4 Christinna Pedersen/Kamilla Rytter Juhl are notable shuttlers who will be the pioneer of their team.

The evergreen Petya Nedelcheva is still playing? ..... Wow, I still remember when she broke Saina Nehwal's resolve at the 2009 World Championships.

Hmm... EMTC & EWTS still using pre-made draw for knockout phase. It's strange, BAC already use new redrawing after group stage finished.

Russia, for instance could benefit losing the top spot of group 5 if it means avoiding Denmark, the top seed, an instead, finishing runner-up or second best runner-up to face either winner of group 3 (possibly Germany) or winner of group 4 (possibly Sweden/France) – an easier draw on paper.

Yeah, it created fiasco at 2008 Thomas Cup group-stage as KOR avoided hot-fave CHN at that time. DEN Men's team is absolutely one or two level above rest of participants here, each team doesn't want to meet them so early.

DAY-3 Order of Play (10.00am, 8 court) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/matches.aspx?id=72D3748F-AFC7-4581-AC7F-4E601EC3939D

The front-runner Danish Men's team meets Russia at last eight and most likely will take on Germany on tomorrow's semifinal. At bottom half of draw, FRA v UKR and second seed ENG v POL. In women's team, top-seed DEN will face once again their group-stage opponent, FIN. RUS v GER should be close contest, two remaining quarterfinal encounters will pit ESP v UKR and TUR v BUL.

Only first MD tie, Ivanov/Sozonov will deliver stiff resistance for favourite Denmark who fields Conrad/Kolding.

Finland didn't passed to Semifinal this time. France become 4th seed in QF and go through semifinal. :D

History was made at the quarter finals of the European men’s and women’s team championships as both the French men and Spanish women guaranteed historic team medals by virtue of their quarter final wins over Ukraine.

The French men had come into this tournament as fourth seeds but with a very young team. The manner of their victory over Ukraine in today’s quarter final can only serve to give them a fix of confidence as they head into a semi-final against England.

Men's Team:

Denmark and Germany will face off in both men's and women's team semifinal, Russian pair Ivanov/Sozonov stole one point from European powerhouse Denmark, def. Conrad/Kolding yesterday.

MZ should win G1 but at 14-10 he has mental collapse to let Jorgensen overtake him and then I go:mad:
(Im cheering for Germany)

European badminton giant DEN defended the trophies, won over FRA in men's team and BUL in women's team with same scoreline, 3-1.

DEN v FRA => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...2D3748F-AFC7-4581-AC7F-4E601EC3939D&match=151
France Men's team surprised overwhelming favourite Danish team stole first point as Brice Leverdez stunned DEN finest Jan O Jorgensen in three games. Conrad/Kolding then leveled it 1-1 after dropped first set against Kersaudy/Mittelheisser. Next two ties, Axelsen and Astrup/Rasmussen outclassed Rouxel and Labar/Maio respectively.

DEN v BUL => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...2D3748F-AFC7-4581-AC7F-4E601EC3939D&match=246
All straight-sets encounters in four ties, Bulgarian third WS also double specialist as well Stefani Stoeva denied DEN team to create perfect score, def. Mette Poulsen. The vast experienced and high calibre pair Pedersen/Juhl sealed the victory easily at deciding match against Nedelcheva/G. Stoeva.
