You spotted correctly. I was surprised to see him in the draw since he just played the SF in the Austrian International on Saturday.
Wow, the two japanese XD pairs bt the korean pairs! Sato Shoji/Shizuka Matsuo bt Kim Ki Jung/Jang Ye Na 21-17, 21-11 Hayakawa Kenichi/Matsutomo Misaki bt Shin Baek Cheol/Ha Jung Eun 21-14, 21-19
Nova Widianto/Vita Marissa progress to the Main Draw after 2 quick victories (both lasting at most half an hr). Tomorrow, Nova/Vita will face the young Netherland pair of Jacco Arends/Selena Piek. I expect them to progress to at least QF to face the 3rd seed Songphon Anugritayawon/Kunchala Voravichitchaikul. If they can beat the Thai pair, then they will play for a place in the Final against either Yoo Yeon Seong/Kim Min Jung [5] or Robert Mateusiak/Nadiezda Zieba [2]. In the top-half, I will expect the top-seed Sudket Prapakamol/Saralee Thoungthongkam or Lee Yong Dae/Kim Ha Na to progress to the Final.
Nova/Vita overcame two potentially dangerous opponents in q-round today in the name of Hirata/Maeda and Bosch/Jonathans
On paper scenario, big possible Nova/Vita will reach quarterfinal and meet Thai pair Songphon/Kunchala.
As expected, Nova/Vita pass the Q round, baring any upsets, The Real Test will come from Songphon/Kunchala in Qf.
Biased or unbiased, I try not to be . Biased or unbiased, I try not to be. The results: Kenichi Hayakawa/Matsutomo Misaki defeated Shin Baek Choel/Ha Jung Eun 21-14, 21-19 in a rather fast match of 32 minutes. .
tbh I don't know if he's in BAM or not, but I guess BAM has to approve his participation in these tournaments. I can't remember if there was a coach with him at the Austrian International or not. He was the only Malaysian there (except for a girl who played mixed doubles with a German partner, I think). Here's a picture of him at the Austrian International: http://www.wbh-wien.at/gallery2/v/AI+2011/26_02/Kenn+Lim-5373.jpg.html He lost to Hsu Jen Hao (TPE) in the Semifinals.
Kenn Lim . The last time we had any news about Kenn Lim was back in 2005 (posted by ants); http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...sters-Lim-Kenn-Yew-Thien-sneak-into-main-draw .
Wow, that's a long time ago. He's a good player, he came from the Qualification in the Austrian International and made it to the Semifinals, beating players like Valeriy Atrashchenkov (who was seeded). He did get a walkover in the QF though, because Misha Zilberman withdrew. And he's a step closer to qualifying now after beating Sebastian Schöttler 21-18, 21-17. Now he'll face Kai Waldenberger, also from Germany.
Hope he (Lim Kenn) will return to BAM and take over LCW's place as overcome other players such as TCS, CKW, DL, Arif, etc...
Looks like Lianne Tan is in trouble (tired) . Looks like Lianne Tan is in trouble now (against Kristina Ludikova). After winning Game 1 (21-09), Lianne lost Game 2 (07-21). Although Game 3 has just started, it looks like Lianne's long match win against Karin Schnaase [4] (21-18, 02-21, 22-20 in 57 minutes) has made her exhausted. .
Nova Widianto/Vita Marissa are too strong for the other XD qualifiers . Nova Widianto/Vita Marissa are too strong for the other XD qualifiers. I won't be surprised that they can easily make it into the Quarter-Finals. .

Yes, it's surprising how fast the Japanese players can improve. The results weren't that spectacular last year. Funny that Kenichi partners Misaki only in the European tournaments .
Kenn Lim was also attending Estonian International in 2009. I took also some photos of him http://www.sezi.ee/?q=Kenn%20Lim Click "Photos" label under the search field
