From my observation, Saina has grown into a fine player with excellent footwork, not prone to errors, tight netplay, and powerful smash. She rebounded well from her heart breaking loss from MKY at OG 2008. The kind that really can challenge Chn domination. Sure there are also Inthanon and all, but she has that "it" quality.
17-17 now.... Yawn. Anyone in birmingham still watching this that isn't the umpire line judge or tournament referee ?
It would have helped if there had been some visuals. TTZ is actually quite an exciting player. She can hit the shuttle really hard. Last year she lost 21-18 21-15. I suppose the scoreline should be about the same again.
Saina Nehwal (IND) [5] def. Tai Tzu Ying (TPE) 21-17, 21-17 She will face Eriko Hirose (JPN) in the Quarterfinals. This concludes Round 2.
