What a hectic schedule for 2010! Questions for mods to clarify & rectify: 1. 2 GP in India (Jun & Dec)? 2. Macau GP (Jul/Aug)? 3. Luxemburg GP Gold (Aug/Sep)?
For these.. ..the mods didn't create the schedule, so their clarification won't be much different than if one of the BCers clarify them. As for rectifying them, well, they won't be needed because: 1. There were also a GP and a GP Gold tourneys, this yr, in India. http://www.internationalbadminton.org/tournamentcalendar_event.aspx?id=2520&calendarid=73 http://www.internationalbadminton.org/tournamentcalendar_event.aspx?id=2494&calendarid=73 2. This yr's Macau Open GP Gold was held in August. http://www.internationalbadminton.org/tournamentcalendar_event.aspx?id=2518&calendarid=73 3. This yr's Luxembourg Bitburger Saarlorlux Open GP was held in September. http://www.internationalbadminton.org/tournamentcalendar_event.aspx?id=2292&calendarid=73 One more news for the 2 India GP & GP Gold tourneys. The plan is to have the current India Open GP Gold turned into a SS by 2011. http://www.deccanchronicle.com/neutral/bwf-happy-security-499
I always asked my students to read the questions carefully before answering them and I believe you didn't. I copied the schedule from the sub-forum, therefore it is either the mod made some type errors or the BWF have amended something. Go back to my original questions for mods to clarify & rectify: 1. 2 GP in India (Jun & Dec)? (Why are there 2 GP's held in India?) 2. Macau GP (Jul/Aug)? (Has Macau Open been downgraded from GP Gold to GP?) 3. Luxemburg GP Gold (Aug/Sep)? (Has Bitburger been upgraded from GP to GP Gold?)
Ehhmmm.. - It's good you always ask your students or kids to read the questions carefully before they answer them. And guess what, i did read your questions many times. Most likely, my answer didn't make sense/isn't clear or the questions didn't make sense/aren't clear. - Yes, i know you copied the schedule from the 2010 Tournament sub-forum. Now, guess where did the mods/kwun copy the schedule from? Do you think they made them up? Here, go take a look and compare: http://www.internationalbadminton.org/tournamentcalendar.aspx?id=73 And as far as i can see, what's shown on BWF's website and this forum are identical (2010 Tournaments sub-forum). So, for me, no, there are no typo errors & no amendments. Unless the mods/kwun recently updated them. Someone correct me if i'm seeing doubles. - For the 3 questions for the mods to clarify and rectify, if you believe the mods/kwun didn't make them, but rather took (copy) them from BWF's website, how do you expect the mods/kwun to clarify & rectify them? They are what they are, the same from BWF's website. Why one tourney is downgraded to GP and one tourney is upgraded to GP Gold, well, did kwun/mods make that decision? As for my reply (in previous post), they are just to show that we shouldn't be surprised as those tourneys were also held during the same time period as 2009 (give & take a few weeks). I even gave links to those 2009 tourneys for comparison. So, why be surprised and need to ask mods/kwun for answers? Happy New Year to you!
Okay, Chris, let me put it this way. 1. I'm asking the 3 questions as they have been typo errors happened in the previous years. Last year, I sent a PM to the mods to notify them but no responses from them. 2. For a while, I thought I was talking to a mod but obviously not (after checking the profile to confirm). 3. Thanks for taking your time to "answer" my questions but if you can't address any issues, just leave them to others who is able to. Happy New to You too!
Hmm.. - Previous yrs. Now, are there are typo errors for this yr's list of tournaments? Have you compared what's shown on the BWF website (the link i gave) and on this forum? Any discrepancies between the 2? - Do you think kwun/mods will answer your questions? And if they do, what do you think their answer(s) would be? - I'm open and willing to read what "others" have to answer or reply/clarify/rectify. Aren't you glad someone actually responded to your queries??
So, how many GP Gold touneys in this year? Based on this link -- http://www.internationalbadminton.org/page.aspx?id=11241 there're 6 GP Gold tourneys (India, Thailand, Malaysia, USA, Macau, Chinese Taipei).
^^Good catch!!..^^ ..so, which one is the correct one?..which one should BC/kwun/mods copy the schedule from?..should we also ask kwun/mods on why there are differences in the schedules?.. Good catch, CLELY! After, checking them out, I believe both links are correct. Here's the thing though, what might've thrown us of is BWF didn't clearly specify the type of GP, for some of them, on its overall schedule page. However, if you click on the respected GP or GP Gold tourneys, you'll see the category they're placed in. So, the detailed info/which GP level is actually shown after one access the respected tourney. Ah-hah... In any rate, here they are: - The German Open is not labeled as GP in both CLELY's & BWF's 2010 overall schedule links. - The Chinese Taipei Open is not labeled as GP in BWF's 2010 schedule link, but labeled in CLELY's link. - The Yonex Canadian Open is not labeled as a GP in BWF's 2010 schedule link, but labeled in CLELY's link. - The Yonex Bitburger Open is not labeled as a GP in BWF's 2010 schedule link, but labeled in CLELY's link. - The Yonex Sunrise Vietnam Open is not labeled as a GP in BWF's 2010 schedule link, but labeled in CLELY's link. - The dates of the Yonex Canadian Open are different in both links. - The dates of the New Zealand Open GP are different in both links.
So.. ..assuming what's shown on BWF's schedule is correct & to answer the question above, the answer is yes, there are 6 GP Gold tourneys for this yr (although not shown on the overall 2010 BWF schedule): India GP Gold: http://www.internationalbadminton.org/tournamentcalendar_event.aspx?id=2979&calendarid=73 Thailand GP Gold: http://www.internationalbadminton.org/tournamentcalendar_event.aspx?id=2905&calendarid=73 Malaysia GP Gold: http://www.internationalbadminton.org/tournamentcalendar_event.aspx?id=2985&calendarid=73 USA GP Gold (wow, is it finally w/a $120,000 prize money?!?!): http://www.internationalbadminton.org/tournamentcalendar_event.aspx?id=2906&calendarid=73 Macau GP Gold: http://www.internationalbadminton.org/tournamentcalendar_event.aspx?id=2786&calendarid=73 Chinese Taipei GP Gold: http://www.internationalbadminton.org/tournamentcalendar_event.aspx?id=2924&calendarid=73 Thus, if kwun/mods have the time, the 2010 tournament schedule shown in this forum will need to be updated to reflect the above 6 categorized GP Gold tourneys (i believe only the Thailand Open GP Gold is correctly shown).
Still confusing about Bitburger Open 2010... this link mentions Bitburger Open is GP Gold tourney -- http://www.internationalbadminton.org/tournamentcalendar_event.aspx?id=2319&calendarid=73 And this link categorizes Bitburger Open as GP level -- http://www.internationalbadminton.org/page.aspx?id=11241 Which one is correct?
Dear George.. ..and you think kwun/mods have the correct answer to that confusion/issue??..their guess or answer is most likely as good as yours or the rest of us.. ..my guess is, the Bitburger Open is classified as a GP Gold....But then again, my guess is as good as how BWF has confused the heck out of all of us..
