This is interesting. Going by the rivalry between MAS and SIN, there 2 countries are fighting to overtake each other. SIN has by now 9-8-9 MAS has 8-8-12. SIN has 2 golds and 2 silver for sure from table tennis tomorrow, that makes it 11-10-9, a gold from Badminton WD would make it 12-10-9. Even if MAS won all 4 golds in badminton finals the tally is only 12-8-12. If SIN WD lost and MAS won all then MAS will be ahead. But WMC is very vulnerable.

..he was referring to the foreign talents (born outside of S'pore) but now playing for S'pore..teasing one uncle Loh lah..;)
..i doubt he is; i think he was just following the broadcast..
..i haven't seen much if any of GLY & VH and a few matches of WKW and NHL but from what i've seen of WKW, imo, i'd say WKW has probably reached her peak or soon to.

I can't see SIN WD losing. And I can't see MAS WS winning.

Out of the 12 probable SIN golds, table tennis alone contributes 6, and we all know that's totally foreign-powered. Badminton WD is also totally foreign-powered. The other 5 golds from shooting, 3 are foreign-powered.

SIN's winning edge comes from their ability to attract foreigners, which also holds true in areas other than sports. Admit it, who wants to migrate to MAS to earn money from sports?

Singapore should be able to finish above Malaysia overall this time, since Malaysia failed to perform at the lawn bowls events. Most likely Singapore would win by at least a clear Gold more than Malaysia.

Singapore also had so many one-twos in Table Tennis and Shooting. So even if all the Golds are tied after today's event (assuming Malaysia sweeps 4 Golds in badminton - which is extremely unlikely), I should expect Singapore to lead by the number of silvers.

The Singapore WD should still have the advantage playing India WD today as do Malaysia have the advantage against England in MS, MD and 50-50 at XD. However, England and India are fighting hard for 2nd overall in the medal table. So much so that they have grabbed gold against both Malaysia and Singapore where it was unexpected (eg. Lawn Bowls, Table Tennis). Who says there won't be more upsets in badminton on the final day?

Well, so much for my bronze medal predictions. Who would have thought Liz Cann, the Aussie pair and Yao/ Chayut could pull off what I considered upsets. No surprise for the MS and MD though.

Finals start a little earlier than I expected. But it's a comfortable time for us here.
