taufik vs kenneth 2005 WC Howard, Tony vs Sigit Candra 2005 WC Fedex sponsoring team china howard tony vs fu cai chen hong vs bao chunlai picc china open
1. Introduction of the new 21 scoring system !!! 2. Introduction of plastic shuttlecock 3. US doubles won at WC2005
I agree on the top 2 because of their far wider implications for the game for the future. Another contender is the establishment of various IBF training centres spread around the world. These 3 may not get the popular votes. But that is not the point.
-Howard/Tony winning the WC. -Fu Hai Feng setting the fastest smash record, proving to the world Badminton is the fastest sport.
I've been wracking my brain trying to come up with at least one item to contribute to this thread and here's all I can come up with. Ready? The emergence of non-traditional companies as big-time badminton corporate sponsors. IOW, instead of every player, every team, every tourney sponsored by Yonex, we start to see other sponsors (e.g., SOTX, FedEx, Wilson, Forza). There.
American winning first ever WC gold Kiwi(New Zealander) winning first ever WC medal and the Taufik Lin Dan match in sudirman cup(I so Love tht match)
Be careful - the boy will read this some day and challenge you "the old man" for a single match . Well, we all know what the result will be . Remember genetic plays a big part here. Badminton is the fastest racket sport Setting up IBF "regional" training centres Non-traditional sponsors such as DOW and Fedex (even though they only sponsor the event/Team in China only). "New" faces in the medalist such as New Zealand bronze medalist in WC 2005 XD, USA gold medalist in WC 2005 MD. Also, Taiwan WS player in WC 2005 (what a slice shot). Use of plastic shuttle Continuous changes in Badminton in hope to make the sport more TV friendly Yonex domination in the sport of badminton (or the lack of competition) Feather shortage WC 2005 in North America (need more of these events) KDM coming to Canada
