There still is LN No.1 string being made, its not discontinued, just supply's are very low from manufacturer. In Canada we probably won't be getting any more No.1 till next year since everything is imported over so most supplies are still over seas while in ither areas of the world has lower stock.
There currently seems to be a stable supply in Europe with all colors being widely available. But looking at the prices that they are asking (130 EUR per reel), I can't imagine that current demand and sales are significant. Exbolt 65 has settled at around 120 EUR just for comparison.
Yeah the price is crazy. I've noticed that stock is back on Aliexpress as well but it has gone up £10 from 75 to 85. But I guess good news is that its slowly back in stock
I asked Li-Ning Europa in Feb 23 when No.1 reels will be instock again. They told me Q3 but they still don't have it in their own online shop. IMO 130€ per reel is better than no supply and we need to mess around with sets. Have you tried Exbolt 65 and how close is it to No.1?
Haven't tried Exbolt yet, sorry. Luckily I'm still sitting on a fair amount of HK-bought stock of No.1.
Both are pretty similar as both being repulsive strings, except that you get more bite on shuttle with XB65, plus I didn’t feel the need of a break in period with it. It’s been a month so can’t comment about the durability but tension retention is very good. Had it strung on 27lbs, it would’ve dropped but the feel is still so good. I feel it is much better than the LN1, as at 27 LN1 would have snapped by now.
I read on a german review platform (badlab ) that the Exbolt 65 is quite slick. Now I read that it has more bite... I'm confused, now.
What I meant was a little bit more than LN1 but definitely nowhere near the D61 or other textured strings.
Has anyone tried Li Ning no 1. with the new packaging? Is it still the same string? I miss the durability and repulsion it gives compared to my aerobite. Sent from my RMX3363 using Tapatalk
Yes, still feels the same as before. Although it appears as if they have switched back to the production location in Japan whereas the last reels with the old labeling were made in China. If you have the chance, give the new N65 a try. Everything you love about the No.1 with that little bit extra structure and an even louder hitting sound.
That's very interesting I might just give it a try. By any chance do you know how it compares in terms of control like hairpin net shots to Aerobite? Sent from my RMX3363 using Tapatalk
I think I've played Aerobite once for a couple of minutes years ago. Aerobite is a lot rougher/grippier than both No.1 and N65, so they will clearly feel different.
