lot of top players are missing because they're injured. there's simply too many superseries / super 500++ tournament nowadays
Withdrawals MS: Prannoy H.S. Aaah. The LSF medical timeout came like clockwork when he's down 15-17 in the rubber game against Popov
Popov has changed playing style... Now does he play like Prannoy?.. Taking shuttle late with deception (& having neutral body action/position until last second !) ... Am I biased towards Prannoy?
I watched the match. More like he was scrambling to retrieve the shots and many times when LSF lifted the shuttle, he was too slow to go for a kill.
Bizarre match by LSF. Won first game 21-12 and looked like business as usual. Then threw away the second game 6-21. In the third game he was down 6-14 and it looked over. Then he won 8 in a row and equalized. You surely thought he'd got the momentum and would win then but nope lost it 17-21 losing the last 4 points in a row from 17-17. Congratulations to Toma Junior Popov on beating the newly crowned best player in Asia
as far as i know : asy, ay, kim/kong, baek/lee, tan/thinaah, rahayu/fadia, csg/kwh now we have 2 players that retired already + ag champ who also withdrew from their match against the malaysian pair. this is what happens when there's too many tournament to play
It's common if they lose the second game, third game is over for this pair. Being consistent is not a norm
Kidambi almost pulled it off in the 3rd game with his opponent getting a yellow card. Sad that these young players are resorting to various ways to gain an advantage.
