Congratulations to chirag/satwik,,, a very well deserved result for them.

the only closest time choi/kim for gold medal is during G1 leading 17-14,,, because if they win g1, it will unsettle india md for a bit and can cause meltdown for india md…

lots of points korea get is from unforced error from chirag/satwik,,, thus now the only thing that can make chirag/satwik lost the match is themselves (or when they underperformed)

They have given only to one foreigner (Cuban boxing coach during the time of Vijendra Singh)

It's the thinnest of the fabric, hence when you sweat profusely it looks cheap
    Otherwise looks good

    Congrats ChiRed...
Badminton is really developing and not only dominated by a few countries now.
If at the previous Olympic Taipei MD manage to steal the gold, then this time it could be India's turn.

So I see the next highest MD ranking for India are Garaga/Panjala at #40, and Arjun/Kapila at #42: BWF - BWF World Rankings - Overview (tournamentsoftware.com)

I wonder why the other Indian MD are not close to Satwik/Chirag? Is it because India doesn't have much depth in MD, in general?

I ask this because after LYD and the other Korean MD quit the national team, Korea went for a time without any top 10 MD in the world. But now, Korea has top MD team again in the world. So I guess Korea has always had depth in MD, compared to India?

The organising committee played it every time Indian players won the match. Dangal is the movie name. And song name is also dangal. Dangal movie has a huge following in China, I heard it broke record of highest Bollywood grossing film in China.

    Million dollar question…in fact questions

    1. How does the Chirag/Satwik pair play like this when the rest of the MD pairs they get to spar from India are below par?

    2. Other side of the coin- why no other Ind pair seems to have improved while they get to spar with one of the world’s best pair day in and day out?

Well, Chinese Taipei have one world beating pair ( WCL/Lee Yang) and the rest are way below par. Even their Womens singles other Tai Tzu Ying no one seems to have even contested in main tournaments. This is a matter of speculation and i don't think we will ever have an affirmative answer.

Boe in an interview was saying the same thing. If SatChi are doing so well, then it's because of the hard training games which they get while playing against Dhruv/Arjun and other local players. They might not have had the expected results in main tournaments, but i can assure that they make SatChi sweat harder during their training.

Exactly can be said for many countries.
HKG has NTY, no one else come close
THA has Dechapol in MD but no-one else
    SGP has LKY
    Indonesia has Grego in WS

Many countries, esp non powerhouses often have a depth gap. Even the likes of Korea, and for a short time China (in WS after LXR left), JPN (XD other than Yuta/Higashino

Men’s double is the only one where every pair can win.

That's two prestigious tournaments where SYQ lost to LSF. Now LSF is known in badminton not just for his AE win, but for this Asian Games gold. And LSF has taken these two away from SYQ's legacy.
