I was in train so couldn’t watch SatwikChirag match and Prannoy first two games. After Indonesia Open semi final, I wanted to write a post for Prannoy (if he had won final) but then I stopped. I was going to write at that time- previous generation (KS, BSP, HSP) KS won silver in WC 2021, BSP won bronze in WC 2019 only Prannoy is missing.

Very happy and proud of Prannoy who beat the in form and hot favourite Axelsen. After Japan Open match against him, I thought Prannoy has the game to annoy Viktor and today he showed that. After first game today, I thought the match was gone. Credit goes to Prannoy for fight back. At least, bronze is confirmed. Let’s aim for the gold, Prannoy !!!

I know he's not a boss (master) and can lose to anyone, but losing this way, it's unacceptable to me

If Antonsen is playing at his peak form right now (and this is hard to say if this is his best form, because he comes into this tournament seeded #12, hardly a top seed), I think this is his best chance to win the WC. The last time Antonsen got to the WC finals, there was no way he was beating prime Momota. Prime Momota was so good, even Viktor Axelsen constantly lost to prime Momota over and over again.

Looking at the remaining MS players, there isn't a single MS player that Antonsen can't beat, if Antonsen is really at his best form. I don't see anybody equivalent to prime Momota left in the MS tournament.

    SYQ what a big mistake.
KN is really tired, if rubber SYQ has a big change to win

SYQ always screws up when he could go all the way. No reason at all to lose today. What’s wrong with him?

Wonder what's going on with the chinese ms players. Very disappointing performance by both Li Shi Feng and now SYQ. Steen mentioned that he thought they perhaps targeted the Asian games more than the WC, sounds a bit strange to me.

Momota probably has a higher chance making a comeback than Nishimoto ever making it far in anything major

I know Antonsen now has a good form.

I will not be sad if the score was 21-18 and 21-19 but ...

    Don't want to say anymore.

Prannoy had to change his flight. That's pretty hilarious :D

I hardly remember that Asian Games exists this year lol
Meanwhile I know since months ago that the world championship is somewhere in mid/end of August
Certainly Asian Games is not the biggest event this year then

Maybe not for you but for the players, you can see these performances . The reason WC is more known is because of brand management. AG doesnt talk about anything but its only 1 in 4 years chance.

Cant wait for AsianGames. Not just badminton but other sports like weightlifting and volleyball excites me.

Would NO fare better against the other 6 players if it weren't ASY?
