Yeah, TTY , the forever nearly woman or , more appropriately, the best WS never to have won a major title, WC or OG. Next year's OG is undoubtedly her swansong , win or lose, all or nothing.

Indeed, you can say her fate is worse than LCW who at least has a nemesis in Lin Dan, who happened to be The GOAT.

Marin was fast and strong while Yamaguchi show her performance was not 100% (just watch the end of second game betweeb Yamaguchi vs Tunjung)

I think Marin will play the final against An Se Young.

Yeah indeed very sad and I feel it is her last WC and last for PV,NO,CM,RI as well..I feel CM is the only one of the golden girls who will be standing at the WC Podium last time cause next WC is in '25 and I feel all of these may retire after next olympics.

Now its not just TTY who has a lil bit of upsetting story Ratchnok is another one..I dunno if yoh watched their match at Olympics Ratchanok was crying her eyes out and understandably so cause it was her dream and also her mom's dream to see her win an Olympic medal but also TTY's dream was the same and only one could have had it..so I was happy for Tai but also sad for May after that match....Sports is cruel just like life.

Okuhara,Sindhu,Marin seem to have like a good complete happy ending

CM - 3 WC Tittles 1 Oly tittle
PV - 1 WC tittle 2 Oly Medals
NO - 1 WC tittle 1 Oly Medal
RI - 1 WC Tittle (no oly medal)
TTY - 2 WC Medal 1 Oly Medal (no major tittle)

I dunno if I should add WTF tittles to sort of compensate for TTY's majors cause she has so many of those but then thats not as big as WC/Oly I mean they all seem to have won this at least once.

Unfortunately, yes. Remarkable that Japan has managed to prepare in a way that only one of their participants across all five disciplines is in top form (Watahiga).

I don't know what tactic, but Nishimoto smash and smash and lose point.

This is the way to lose fastly. I'm sure, look at the score now.

The Evergreen Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan, what incredible longevity, and unquestionably an amazing living legend for being consistently among the top contenders in almost every tournament they play in despite their "advanced age" in badminton terms, 35 and 38 respectively. I salute them !

It's ok hendra is 39 already what do you expect..

I would blame this more on PBSI and the coaching staff instead. hendra is 39 and they still can't form new pairs that can win major tournament like this

Yup. I would say LCW had it harder than TTY because he had to contend against the GOAT Men's Singles player. I don't think TTY had to contend against the GOAT Women's Singles player in her career. I remember in 2017, when TTY was virtually defeated in tournament, after tournament, after tournament, even Carolina Marin and Sindhu, the other two best WS player at the time, couldn't figure out how to beat TTY. TTY was a step above the rest of the WS in 2017. And that's the year that TTY skipped the WC. Oh well, c'est la vie.

Ha Ha!:p But I did say go Prannoy, so I didn't give up completely.

Yes, Prannoy deserved a medal. He has been an asset for India for a very long time.
And yes, Lakshya vs Prannoy would have been great, but it wasn't to be. I hope the defeat to his rival Kunlavut makes Lakshya come back stronger in the olympics next year.

It is pretty hard to say who is the favourite to win gold now . Even after defeating VA (and LKY and Chico), I don't think Prannoy is the clear favorite. But we are obviously rooting for him.

For Satwik Chirag, they should have won no excuses. Hottest property in MD right now. But I heard the Danes played the best match of their lives hence two games win over SatwikChirag.

This was a great opportunity for them to win as they had an easy draw. Asian games next month for Satwik Chirag and many more WC to come. So hopefully they win there.
