Victim of media. Pandas switched from a carnivore to a vegetarian diet and look, it's slowly becoming extinct.
You know, part of me really wants Momota to read this thread, from brain damage to diet, from love affair to mental health. But I support Momota as an athlete, as someone who had been at the highest of the peaks and now tries to return to form. So I guess it’s better that he doesn’t get to read all these nonsense (no offense to anyone, I know most people have nothing but good intentions)
Can momota speak English? I dun think he should read about ppl speculating about his personal life or diet at all.
Hey at least on this forum we are actively trying to understand his problem. We normal human. Unlike his coaches who seem to be doing nothing to help his cause. Look @Hbmao this is the point of forums. To be able to discuss on topics with people who have passion for the same thing. This is Momota's thread - his fans will be on it. His performances are no where near like it was in his glory. Of course his fans are going to comment, of course his fans are going to speculate, of course his fans are going to be wrong about everything single thing they say and you know what this is what makes it interesting. @Justafan90 Right now as a fan I am incredibly frustrated about the performance my favourite badminton player of all time. Like @Nine Tailed Fox would say, Lin Dan and Badminton are the same to him. This is how it is for me as well. But right now i'm frustrated and i'm concerned. I don't have anyone I could talk about on Momota irl. So I come on this forum to discuss and try to understand or try to make sense of things and so on. Even if it seems utterly stupid to you. But what's so bad in it?
Even if he doesn't read it (I sure hope he doesn't waste his time reading these forums when he can be training or rehabbing), I hope somehow it filters down to his team that he has people/fans who are concerned about him mentally, physically, psychologically, medically etc. When he first came onto the scene in his late teens he was touted as one of best up and coming players of the new generation in the world to watch put for. And he showed us for a few years what he was capable of. But most tragically there were so many unfortunate setbacks in his career path, eg. with missing the 2016 OG due to the ban, then the most unfortunate accident, then the pandemic that delayed 2020 OG with all the messed up training and competition along with it. It's just sad to see all this now that he's turning 28 this September. He doesn't have much time left career wise... Sent from my SM-G988W using Tapatalk
If he’s mentally strong the comments of the public should not shake him from his goal. .. He’d probably crumble, however, given his current state.
28 isn’t horrible. I still believe he has at least one more shot at the Olympics if he’s aiming for a medal.
I have no doubts that there are more talks and discussions in japan on him. Words there could be nastier or more speculative. I trust that PJB is trying his best to help him.
No, but for a singles player, that's getting on in age. Especially since he's only been in one OG. And that turned out to be a bad experience being knocked out in the group stage. So Paris OG 2024 will be even greater pressure on himself. And he'll be almost 30 by then. But that's 2 yrs from now. Let's hope and see how he gets on in the interim. But I sure hope his team gets going quickly and differently because "insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results". Sent from my SM-G988W using Tapatalk
If he continue losing at the first round, I'm afraid that no more Olympic 2024 for him. He cannot compete a ticket for that.
If he is good enough, he will qualify with ease, given the lack of depth/talent in Japan MS. Maybe he'd hang up his racket this year. When he had the accident, we'd all praying he will recover and play again. Now we are all hoping he can be the same player before the accident. Unfortunately, things do not always go with our wishes.
Here you go - this is what I have been expecting since a long time ago. I finally found some improvement in one tournament but then he comes for Thomas Cup and is totally useless. I just don't understand.
You have got to be kidding me. A 30 mins of BC surfing daily should be the FIRST golden rule of each National Badminton Federation. The wide repertoire of thoughts here are like a booster dose against COVID. Every single morning, at 7:30 am, with cranberry juice in his left hand, Momota should put his specs on and scroll down pages after pages of his own journey. Perhaps, even hire @kurako to do the feel good translation or hire me to DROP NUCLEAR BOMB translations. The choice is his.
