Ha ha. Good!. I will be happy if the later upsets the former. But , will it happen?. My prediction is lindan in straight games. Sent from my SM-G600FY using Tapatalk
Oh, Sourabh Verma's defeat to an unknown quantity is totally unexpected in a WTS300 event in R1. I guess it's just one of those days.
A surprising result in MS opening round saw the wild card player Abhinav Manota eliminates more fancied opponent Sourabh Verma in close games. Crowd favourite Lin Dan outplays Takuma Ueda as we witness a glimpse of his quality skill on this match which played at TV Court. The Chinese megastar will take on Indian potential teenager Lakshya Sen tomorrow. Other title contenders, Jonatan Christie, Sai Praneeth, Tommy Sugiarto, Sameer Verma through to last sixteen. @Nine Tailed Fox Finally Lin Dan on court 1? I almost forgot about NZ Open. Hope to see LD doing good!
Sameer verma is so deceptive that opponent should not attemt to attack him all the time. He simply making shots out of nothing. Sent from my SM-G600FY using Tapatalk
16 year old Lakshya Sen against Famous Lindan. Hope he get valuable experience Sent from my SM-G600FY using Tapatalk
Wow that defense shot from LD at 9-8. Didn't go over the net though.. The umpire is a bit overweight..
Lin Dan is fed up with his second service fault call. He's already so lackadaisical in this match after taking Takuma Ueda seriously yesterday, I think he's just not really into the game, perhaps bored and only want to do the minimum necessary to get by.
It's really not easy for Lin Dan to be motivated enough in such a low level tournament where he's forced to play just to save some needed ranking points to maintain his ranking in the top 8. As Li Yongbo once said , Lin Dan simply doesn't have the hunger anymore. Nowadays, everybody knows they have a chance to beat him, it's no longer news when he loses to the also-rans.
Will not be surprised if he will lose to Sameer Verma tomorrow. Sent from my Moto E (4) Plus using Tapatalk
Finally, Lin Dan decided enough is enough and pulled away to victory, almost toying with his opponent.
I believe Lin Dan's match always will be played at court 1 (TV Court), he's the star of this tournament. Lakshya Sen shows his potential, looking forward to this teen in upcoming WJC. Rubber games victory to pass last sixteen, Super Dan will get another Indian challenger, more dangerous Sameer Verma who halts defending champion Lee Cheuk Yiu, thanks to Verma persistent, solid defence and cross-court smash accuracy. On bottom half draw, 3rd seed Praneeth is expected to check into final four and will meet either Tommy Sugiarto or Jonatan Christie. Women's singles, we'll wait strong favourites Takahashi and Mitani semifinal showdown on Saturday. The opposite draw, rematch of 2017 WJC final will happen tomorrow, Gregoria Mariska against Han Yue. Another Chinese player Zhang Yiman eliminates Indonesian number one player, Fitriani in marathon match, not good premonition for INA Uber Cup campaign. A disappointment day for Indonesia camp in doubles category, most of them can't go further in this relatively quiet tournament. WD top-seed Haris/Pradipta will face tricky test, recent SUI Open champion Sakuramoto/Takahata while second seed Fukuman/Yonao find China new promising pair Cao TW/Zheng Y. Also safely through into last eight the frontrunners of men's doubles and mixed doubles as well.
