So, finally had a few solid sessions of doubles with this racket. 4U version.

Surprisingly powerful on overhead shots and yet fast and maneuverable on drives and defense. Kinda reminds me of my old 4U Victor SW30. Stiff enough to be accurate but yet still flexes a bit for whipping power when required. Sweetspot is quite good sized. Feel is good allowing a good sense of touch shots and net shots. I can get used to it.

Question: do Intanon and Yamaguchi use 3U or 4U version?

I bet 3U. There's just no reason to go 4U at their level and physical strength IMO.

Is astrox 77 3u with bg80 28lbs ok? I'm using that on arc11 3u,and zf2 4u.Would softer strings be more logic since its less stiff?

I use the same tensions on any racket. No reason to change unless you've tried and then found it didn't work.

I have both the Arcsaber 11 and the Astrox 77 in 3U
Astrox 77 feels way more head heavy and sluggish but has more smash clear power.
Arc11 is way more agil and feels lighter, still has some power but less then the Astrox 77.
The Arc11 is the better allrounder but the Astrox 77 gives more power. I am still undecided which one I prefer.
I would also like to hear other people talk about this comparison. If it was up to me, my perfect racket would be something of a mix between these 2 rackets.

I have played for a year now with the Arc11, and just recently bought an Astrox 77 3U. Yesterday I played 4 serious matches with the 77 and 1 match with the Arc11. I think I have to play longer with the 77 to say something that has value, I don't know the racket that wel yet. Let's hear from other people what they think about the comparison between the 77 (3U) and the ArcSaber 11.

Im in similar dilema.got u zf2 4u,arc11 3u.Checking yonex chart a77 is like maybe too flexible for me. I would like slightly less flex arc11 with slightly more head heaviness. I really like arc11 zf2 seams little sluggish.

@garra actually, coming from the zf2 the 77 might be a pretty good successor. It's not THAT flexible...

So all these 3 rackets are quite similar. We're taking about different accents here. The Jetspeed 12 does sit in the middle of these rackets flex/stiff wise I feel. I had the Jetspeed 12 shortly. The Jetspeed is more head heavy than the Arc11, like the 77. It only comes with a g5 grip however and it is more a singles racket than the arc which is the more allround. The Jetspeed 12 is basically the 77 with a little more stiffness imo... Both the 77 and even more so the Jetspeed are just a little slower in doubles...

I see, thank you for your feedback.

Is it true? Jetspeed is even slower than Astrox 77?

I don't remember that well tbh. I think they are both not the fastest for doubles. Still playable, but not the fastest. i don't think in doubles there is much difference between the 2...

Ah, but the 4U AX77 is great for fast doubles...

Gideon (number one) is playing with Astrox77 in 4U doubles!

Some woman players playing Astrox77 in 3U, but only in sinlges.

This is a simple comparison between Astrox77 and JS12 i had in my bag, a yellow version of Astrox77 and both are 3ug5, same grip, same string and same tension. However YMMV, just to share my experience as i owned both.

    Head heaviness
JS12 > Astrox77, not too much tho, just little bit

    Stiffness
Astrox77 > JS12, personally prefer Astrox 77 shaft because it has its magic in own way while JS12 being more to flexible side

    Power
Astrox77 - JS12, both are powerful rackets, but smashing from Astrox77 is steeper and more accurate

    Drop
Astrox77 > JS12, Astrox excel in this, fairly accurate and tight, i mean real tight

    Drive
Astrox77 - JS12, both are equally excellent, fast enough to push flats anytime, personally felt Astrox77 is faster IMHO

    Defence
Astrox77 > JS12, here is where Astrox77 did the magic, how should i explain this, it's like you can control how you want to return back your opponent's smashes whether flat and high lift, bouncy enough to lift it high yet fast enough to return flat responsively

Hmm really sounds like a JS12 to Astrox 77 is a sideways step...
Does the Astrox at least have better shock handling? The jetspeed is a little too harsh on my tennis elbow.

Indeed a very good comparison. Thank you so much.

I have read in the forum as well regarding sinking grommet of jetspeed 12 (anyone can clarify this further?). Guess most probably I am going for astrox.

Yes, JS12 has serious sinking grommet/frame problem, unless you fix continuous grommet to it. So far i didn't see any sinking issue in Astrox77 in a month time, yet. Will update more from time to time.

Bah - if the yellow one came in 3UG5 I'd have bought one already!
